25.4oz brown bottle, no freshness date.

Patchy lacing, deep golden hue. Aromas of exotic fruit, lemon pith, pepper corn, earthy honey, and bready malt. Citrus twang, spicy, mildly peppery, underlying honey, warming, faint yeast, clean graininess, grassy, fruity with a drying finish.

Very interesting and very extreme with the additions of Buddha's Hand Fruit and Tasmanian Pepper Berries. It is still a full on Braggot and a whole lot of fun to sip.

It takes all kinds of palates, I guess, but I like the moderate amount of honey flavor. From the 750 ml bottle pours a light, honey-colored brew with a white, persistent foam with a champagne mouthfeel. Aroma of lemon and pineapple.

A nice tart edge offsets the sweetness. For the record, the flavorings include orange blossom honey, Buddha's Hand citron and Tasmanian pepper berries, whatever that is. This is a very pleasant mix of citrus and honey, with a touch of heat. It leaves you with a woody taste in the mouth. I like the fact that this does have both tart and sugary elements, but it's quite edgy with what tastes like Belgian yeast. It dries out toward the end and leaves a hint of that yeasty bitterness.

This seems quite complex and interesting to me, and well worth a try, especially if you aren't crazy about Braggots. They're closing this one out at Mayfair Liquors in Denver.

1 pint 9.4 fl oz brown glass bopttle with waxed over pressure cap served into a Guinness goblet in me gaff in high altitude Castle Rock, Colorado. Reviewed live.

Served straight from the fridge. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a white colour three finger head of fair cream and thickness, and nice retention. Body colour is a transparent pale copper. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.

Sm: Honey, spice, pale malts, and nordic spice. Residual sugar. An average strength aroma.

T: Honey, heavy spicing, brown/fermented sugar, crystal malt, sweet lemon, and some light citrusy hops.

Mf: Nicely coarse, wet, and well carbonated. A bit nectary. Good thickness and palate presence.

Dr: Drinkable and enjoyable. I'd have this again. I quite like this. A tasty brew from twisted pine.

High C+

Poured into a snifter. Limited release #4 of 12.

3.0 A: Moderately hazed dark yellow color. Three fingers of frothy white head. Retention is a bit below average and little lacing is left.

3.5 S: Big honey from the start, like it should be. Huge herbalness including chamomile and dandelion. Earthy and peppery spiciness. Neutral, lightly grainy maltiness. Pleasant nose.

3.5 T: Lots of honey, but I still want some more. Again spicy pepper, herbal tea variety of herbalness, and dirty earth. Clean, grainy malts.

3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation with a light spritziness to it. Smooth.

3.5 D: I'm a big fan of braggots, and while it isn't bad, it's not super complex or super potent. I prefer braggots to have an unholy amount of honey. Still, definitely worth a buy since there is a paucity of braggots on the market and this one is tasty.

On tap at the Old Toad in Rochester, NY.

Pours a deep golden yellow/orange, with a 2 inch foamy, fizzy head, and a lot of lacing.

Smells like Citra hops, black pepper, honey, and grass.

Tastes similar, a lot of stuff going on in here, hard to wrap my head around it. Some honey sweetness, some orange and pineapple flavors from the Citra hops, some black pepper spiciness (the Tasmanian pepper berries maybe?). There is a really fresh herbal quality to this, and some gin botanical like qualities to it as well. Really complex and unique. I don't really know what Buddha's hand zest it, or what it tastes like, so I'm not picking it up.

Light bodied, crisp, clean mouthfeel, which is a miracle, given all the flavors that could muddle it up. No bitterness. Medium carbonation.

My first braggot- without comparing it to other braggots, I will say that Twisted Pine knocked it out of the park. I haven't liked many of their other brews, but this hit all the right notes for me.
