A place we used to visit occasionally when I went to college in Russellville, the owners pride themselves as being essentially the only place between Fayetteville and Little Rock where you can get a decent beer. Located in Altus, a small town which has 4 wineries which are excellent to stop for the tastings on your way to visit Kelts (that's what we used to do on our visits). A very nice small restaurant with an excellent atmosphere to eat and have a couple of beers. On their website they claim to always have Guinness, Bass, Harp, Newcastle, 1554 Black Ale,
Smithwick's, Woodchuck Pear Cider on tap with a few additional rotating.

Kelts is a fantastic little place just down the hill (literally) from northwest Arkansas' famous wineries. It's owned and operated by two transplants from the Seattle area, Dan and Jan. Dan cooks and tends the bar, while Jan serves tables and tends to Dan. They're really a unique couple, in a unique little pub, in a unique place. Jan will entertain you with stories and conversation if you're interested, but also knows when to back off and let you have your own conversation. Oh, and be sure to read the "rules" of the place on the menu.
My wife and I both had "the feature" (a steak and shrimp concoction that particular night) which was excellent. I didn't count the number of taps at the bar, but I'd guess at least a dozen or so, all of which were solid beers. No mass consumer junk anywhere. Jan is quick to offer a suggestion if you want to try something new, or just bring you your favourite.
Price wise, it's somewhere between "reasonable" and "a bit pricey". We definitely felt we got our money's worth, regardless.
If we're ever in the area again, we'll most certainly be back. And if you're driving I-40 through the area, note that Altus is only a few minutes off the interstate. Definitely worth the brief side trip.
