Picked this up at my favorite beer store in Belgium, Dranken Geers. Hazy copper-amber pour with one and a half finger creamy head with decent retention and super lacing. Somewhat boozey nose with hints of caramel, oak, vanilla, apples, grass, and a touch of maple syrup. The taste starts off a bit boozey as well, but mellows as it warms. Lots of wood along with hints of vanilla, white pepper, caramel, peaches, grass, and a touch of cloves. The Armagnac really emerges at the end, but for a 12% beer, it's really pretty drinkable. The mouthfeel is smooth and almost creamy with a subtle warming from the alcohol and a slightly syrupy finish. This beer just keeps improving as it goes. Two down and six more to go!

On tap at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.
Pours a clear orange with a foamy bone head that settles to tiny dots of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drop into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, honey, fruit, wood, and brandy. Taste is much the same with a fruit and brandy flavors on the finish. There is a mild alcohol kick on the palate after each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that has a much better smell in my opinion.

On-tap at Beachwood II,
A: Pours a medium amber with a light white head which offers up some spotty lace.
S: Notes of barrel, vanilla and pears.
T: Sweet pear and yellow apple, vanilla and maple syrup. Notes of oak as well. A spirituous beer, finishes with a fair bit of ethanol.
M: High medium-bodied, boozy at times, has an elegance.
O: Armaganac is my favourite spirit, so I was anxious to sample this as Albus Dumbledore would say. It didn't wow me, but I enjoyed the draft for sure. Wish it had more direct liquor character in this one though.
