Sampled bottle, RBNAG 2007 in Grimstad. ABV was 6.4%. Hazy golden colour, huge head. Pleasant aroma of blackcurrants and hops. Moderately fruity flavour (blackcurrants), light bodied for a 6.4% beer.

so fun experimenting with some of these crazy italian producers. never seen anything from these guys on the market before a recent trip to fort collins, so what a treat. sometimes i get bummed out buying beer like this for 20 bucks a bottle, but it seems to almost always be worth it in the end. less so this time, i thought the beer was lesser quality than some, but had some age on it, and maybe dropped off a bit. hazy murky purple wheat beer look to it with a tall and lasting just off white head thats real dense and creamy. looks nice in the glass. i wanted this to be more of a wild ale, not sure why i expected it to be one. the nose shows some yeast, but its more like a tired saison than something funky, and it has a staleness to it, short of oxidation, but lackluster and sleepy. the fruit smells nice, sweet and jammy, definitely some residual sugar in this. in the flavor, the fruit comes first, blackberry desserty, authentic for sure, and really cool use of black currants. pale wheat malt seems to make up the majority of the grain, but thats a bit stale too at this point. mild tartness with the sweetness from the fruit, and a yeast that does nothing at all for me. great carbonation though, and a very unique product, even though i am far from in love with it. not stoked i spent what i spent on this, but its unlike anything else, and satisfies my thirst for weird italian brews. unless you find a fresh one though, i would save your money...

A- well I think that is the biggest head I have ever seen on a beer. Poured it into a Maredsous glass and ended up with 1/3 foam. The beer itself was a cloudy orange color.
S- a bit funky
T- a bit fruity and wine like. Interesting, but not great. This bottle has been sitting around for a couple of years. I can't remember what it was like when I had the first bottle, so no call on how its changed.
M- a bit thin. Not much malt in the beer, so not much feel.
Overall an interesting beer, but I won't pick this one up again.

125th Review
Bottle to Westvletren 12 (small) chalice
From notes. Can't recall who brought this to our recent Utrecht tasting in December 2011, but thanks!
A: Medium, pale yellow. Solid 2 (soft white) fingernail head on medium pour.
S: Funk and farm. Smells of lemon, hay, cracked wheat, and old cheese.
T: Unripened white grapes, cracked hay, and lemon zest. Hint of citrus fruit and tart berries. Not too sour or tart, but not too sweet either. Dull might be the best way to describe the taste.
M: Light bodied with medium carbonation.
O: I was searching for a lot of the things I mentioned above in this beer - there is just no real distinct character to it. Not that that is necessarily bad - because it was definitely a nice thing to drink - but just tossing that out there. Maybe it gets better with age.

I was able to try this beer at a tasting organized by Jeffo and Doopiedoopiedoo. Read some more about the tasting on my review of The Brewery - Black Tuesday.
This was a gusher! For a sour it is not really uncommon, but unfortunately it was opened inside :).
A - A hazy fluid with a white head and there is some carbonation visible.
S - A bread kind of smell along with sour, overall it smelled like a cow stable.
T - A light cherry and blackberry taste, very nicely done concerning the smell :)
M - A medium carbonation, where one expect a high one!
O - Not to bad in taste, but there is no complexity/depth.
