Taster at brewery. I would not put this in as a stout, but as. German schwarzbier. More lighter in body with some huge roasty notes in aRoma and taste. Dark and slick, hits all the right marks. Felt it was closer to the Schwartz than a porter. So this rating reflects it as a Schwartz.

This was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a cap of a little off white foamy head that fell off at a moderate pace. The aroma had some almonds - sweet and roasty, light coffee bean roast, some dark chocolate bitterness and a little bit of earthy hop bitterness. The flavor leaned into the blend of the sweet and the roastiness. Bitterness played a decent part in the underneath. The aftertaste was somewhat roasty and sweet. The finish was moderately roasty and sweet. The palate was just a touch under medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation and ABV felt good. Overall, I'd have again.

Pours a finger and half of tan head on a black body.
The aroma is roasted malt, coffee and dark chocolate.
The taste has a mild sweet start, then goes to coffee bitterness. Great profile.
The texture is crisp.
Really enjoyable.

A stout through and through to me. Pitch black and very carbonated this is a hopped up stout with more hop bitterness than roasted malt bittersweetness. Easy drinking and slightly sweet on the finish.
