Good orange pour, nice head that was about 3/4" I would say. Aroma was large simcoe, so its pungent, a real bitter pine and soft citrus touch.

Good taste, pretty straight up, big hops, big pine, moderate bitterness, a kind of minty and peach refreshing vibe to it. Its pretty chewy, syrupy and thick, minorly hot, not a problem, but you aren't going to mistake this for a pale ale on any day. Definitely blurs the line between what an ipa/imperial ipa/dipa is and where you decide to draw the line, the alcohol and bigness of the beer tends to lead me to classify this as an imperial version.

Had this at one of Bistro's ipa events, was pretty impressed, I think it was the single ipa party in September, tough to tell where the notes on the phone are from, right in between two events.

(Served in a short nonic)
A- This beer pours a deep caramel body with a swirling carbonation that supports a sticky snow white head that laces as it slides back on top of the beer.

S- The slight earthy pine resin hops grow as the beer opens with some woody hops aroma finishing the smell.

T- The bright green hops has some slightly unripe fruit flavors that grow a bit more fruity as it opens and some spicy hop character in the finish. There is no real bitterness in the clean finish.

M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with a gentle fizz and a creamy texture while the head last.

O- This beer has some nice hop characteristics but it seems a bit mellow for a big NW coast IPA. Nice session beer and goes down pretty quick.

On tap at Chucks.

A: Pours a hazy orange with a small slightly off-white head on top. Good retention, leaving a nice cap on top. Thin lacing down the sides of the glass.

S: Nice and citrusy, some tropical fruit including grapefruit, orange, and some lemon. A bit of grainy malt and caramel on the back end.

T: Similar to the aroma, a nice and citrusy flavor, grapefruit and more orange with pine mixed in. Has a nice bitterness on the finish, but not overly so. Very smooth.

M: Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Easy drinking.

O: Another winner from Boneyard, not quite as good as Hop Venom, but would gladly drink this one often.
