Enjoyed on tap on 8/25/12.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy dark orange with thick white head that retained pretty well.
Smell: The nose on this one is great. Tons of citrus and tropical aromas along with a more subtle grassy scent. Really potent and jumping out of the glass. Smells like a big DIPA.
Taste: Follows the nose with fresh orange, grapefruit, and other tropical fruits. Hops don't destroy the palate because of a considerable pale malt presence. Finishes with moderate bitterness that gives some more earthy, resiny hop flavors.
Mouthfeel: A full-body and rich. Would like a bit more of drinkability.
Overall: I've had this one a couple of times now and really think it rivals any DIPA in the country. Really looking forward to canning.
Serving type: on-tap
