22 oz bomber courtesy of SalukiAlum pours an opaque black color with a fluffy cap of tan head. Retention and lace are just ok.

Nose is dusty chocolate, leafy hops and a light hazelnut aroma. Smells good

Taste is good too, I love a good English Porter and this is a good rendition. The old world hops (Hallertau maybe?) are a nice touch and give it an earthy leafy character. The yeast gives off some complimenting nuttiness to go along with the cocoa and roast. Everything works well with each other and the ABV is well integrated. This would be a regular in my rotation if it were readily available here.

Appearance: black, with a nice thick, fluffy brown head that stays around for a while.

Aroma: roasted malt in the fore. Chocolate notes prominent with coffee in the mix too.

Taste: roasty and chocolaty, with some bitterness coming from the roasted malt. No hoppiness of note.

Mouth Feel: medium thick with some decent bubbliness. Creamy and smooth.

Overall: basically a dark, roasty take on what a Dunkles would be if made into an ale. All in all, pretty good. I am enjoying this one.

Dark brown body crowned with a thick, tan head. Unsweetened chocolate, cocoa, and mildly roasted grains make up the bulk of the aroma. Smooth, light chocolate flavor with a soothing bitterness in the background. Soft, medium-light body; semi-dry finish.

Man, maybe more brewers should take a stab at brewing a porter. This one, apparently fermented with an alt yeast strain, is pretty decent. It is not as thick and robust as some porters can be, yet seems to hit all the key points for making a tasty, memorable porter.

Pours a nice deep dark chocolate brown with a nice mocha head. Aroma is roasty and rich; chocolate, roasted barley, brown sugar. Flavor pretty much followed suit with some nice roasted barley, some rich and semi-sweet chocolate, brown sugar, and a hint of some hidden coffee (my only kinda wish would be for a stronger coffee presence). A creamy, medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, a great German/English stout that stands in the same league as it's neighbor in Fort Collins, Odell's Cutthroat Porter.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a clear super dark brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt and cocoa aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa and nutty flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that smells better than it tastes in my opinion.

German-style porter (says so on the bottle). Pours dark with virtually no light passing through it. No head to speak of. Smells of roasted malt. Solid mouthfeel for a porter. Failry rich, smooth, chock full of roasted flavor.
This is what porters used to be and I missed them greatly. Superb representation of the porter style I really enjoy.
