This is a darn good beer that just misses the Maibock style. But, really, who cares?
Pours a dark gold, quite clear and clean. Head starts as a white fluff about 1 finger, almost with a pink undertone. Could use more bubbles and retention. Settles to a collar.
Slight hop aroma and grassy spice. Malt comes through as more caramel than biscuit. Semi sweet.
Flavors are just right on the off balance. Hops provide that grassiness and spice. Clean taste. The caramel does come through, which makes the beer a bit heavy. A splash of booze on the end gives a slight burn, but nothing upsetting.
Tame the booze a bit and provide more biscuit rather than caramel and we could be looking at some 5s. As it is, it's quite good

Had a 1/2 pint in the tasting room, and shared this 22oz bottle at home with the wife for review.
A – Pours quite dark, golden copper hued. Head is pale white, tall and leaves behind some stellar lacing. Carbonation is quite low and head did fade quite quickly.
S – Not grossly malty like some in this style can be. Little bit of spice, gingerbread almost. Not overtly sweet.
T – Malty, sweet and tasty. Balanced by a nice spice note again, a little bit of ginger and anise almost. Caramel malts do come on strong.
M – Quite full-bodied, sticky and sweet. Hints at the moderate ABV here. Could use a bit more carbonation.
O – Very nice for the style, quite balanced all things considered. This one does develop some nice flavors as it warms up. Though its easy to drink through. Very nice from Grimm's

The body appears with a rich copper color and topped with a foamy white head. Aroma combines warm bread, a cinnamon spice tone, and slightly pine-like smell to tease the nostrils. Warm toasted grains and a rye-like spiciness abounds within the flavor; brown sugar; toffee; bold bitterness builds up late in the finish. Medium bodied; semi-dry mouthfeel.
A warm, malty beer with a nice touch of alcohol heat and zingy hop bitterness. Rich and flavorful without coming on to heavy or too filling. Depth and complexity make this maibock a very appealing taste treat.

Pours a honey golden with a white head. Aroma is definitely on the sweet side; lots of caramel, honey, dough, and florals. Flavor pretty much followed suit. A medium bodied, crisp and creamy, silky mouthfeel. Overall, a very nice beer. Glad I tried it and one I have now had a few times because I have enjoyed it so much (and it keeps popping up on the local taps).

Pours a light amber color with a soft red hues. Good clarity and a soft off white head. Good retention as well.
The nose is malt forwards with a rich caramel note. Some underlining toffee and munich malt notes. A touch biscuit almost doughy. Some light esters with hints of tropical fruits and tangerines. Mostly clean yeast.
The taste is similar. The malt comes out with a nice sweetness. The caramel backs off but blends well with the toffee and biscuit notes. Some light honey undertones as well. Some heat as well that lingers into the finish. A light yeast note but overall good.
The body is moderate with a slight sweetness lingering into the finish. A soft carabonation and some heat into the finish. Overall pretty good.
