Grimm identifies this as an Erntebier. Since the style is not available as an option, I just selected a german style of beer that is also dark... but this is definitely NOT a dunkel lager. And probably would have been a little closer to shwarzbier, so probably should have selected that over the dunkel.

Pours dark brown, almost blackis, with a mocha head. Slight translucency to the beer. A deep and roasty aroma offering cold black coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted barley. Flavor offers deep roastiness of the barley, some bakers chocolate, and some coffee. Nothing rich or sweet about the flavors though. A light, crisp, active mouthfeel. Overall, if you ever wondered what a dark, roasty dark ale (like a stout or porter) would be like if offered in a light, crisp, sessionable beer, this here is your answer. Great beer that is the perfect summer session beer for those looking for a darker take on the style. (918 characters)
