maybe the best beer ive had from strange. it is also one of the first bottled beers ive had from them. cool they have some stuff out there on the shelves now, should help them keep growing. this is cool beer, a nice bitter hoppy refreshing ipa, with grapefruit added. you can really taste the grapefruit peel and juice, its very forward, and it goes great with the hops, which have some grapefruit characteristics as it is. very well selected there. creative beer, i loved when bull and bush did the grapefruit pale, and this is almost just as good, its equally grapefruity, and its just way more hoppy and bitter in the finish. carbonation is high, and the beer finishes pretty dry. an impressive execution of a beer that could have gone really wrong. good to see these guys continue to evolve and take chances with their beers. i like this a lot, and the price is really fair for a bomber. (891 characters)

22 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden orange with a big creamy white head that retains well and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is huge grapefruit and piney, resiny hops.

The flavor is some sweet bready malt and fruit with grapefuit, pine and resiny hops with decent bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nicely balanced IPA with lots of fruit and grapefruit and big piney resiny hops. (442 characters)

Poured from a bomber into 12oz odell tulip
pours a peach tinted gold, small tight head dissipates into a ring of fine bubbles. Bit of chill haze.
huge grapefruit aroma up front. Bready malts and a touch of yeast as well. No dms, no diacetyl.
flavor follows the nose. Big grapefruit flavors, hop choice really compliments grapefruit well. Some dank hoppiness with a breath of onion really support the citrus flavors and keep it from being a one note beer. Bready malts support a firm bitterness but stay out of the way of the grapefruit and hops.
Medium mouthfeel, good carbonation, slight astringency from hops and citrus peel.
overall, a grapefruit forward ipa, with great support from hop choices that drinks a bit too easy. I see this beer being a staple in my fridge from here on out. Nice job strange! (807 characters)

Ratings are correct below, but I changed some marks above to make the final rating as close as possible with Beer Advocate's "revamped" system. The 3.57 overall rating is accurate.

Type: 16-oz. draft
Glass: Large snifter
From: Tap n Handle in Fort Collins, Colo.
Price: $5.00
Purchased: April 18, 2015
Consumed: April 18, 2015
Misc.: N/A

Poured a caramel, semi-clear color with two fingers of frothy, white head when I got it. Nice circular spotty lacing on the sides of the glass. Above average retention. (Sight - 4.13)

Smelled Citra, caramel, light grapefruit and buttery malts. (Smell - 3.75)

Tasted similar to the nose, getting those buttery malts, veggies, Citra, sharp grapefruit, some floral hops with a bitter finish. (Taste - 3.50)

Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 3.38)

Just not that good overall and I regret even getting it when there were so many good beers there. Bitterness just dominated the palate. Not close to balanced at all. (Overall - 3.50)

Sampled at SAVOR 2015. Clean and bitter with a little grapefruit, but can't hold a candle to Grapefruit Sculpin. (112 characters)
