Thin white head. Slight fruit smell. Clear and copper colored. Tastes like cherries with a touch of beer. Then it tastes like cherries again. But not sweet. Like cherries you pick off of a tree for pie.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at mrbubbler's tasting.

Pours a hazy orange-red with a foamy reddish-tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is of grain, cherry, cherry juice, and medicinal aromas. Taste is much the same with cherry, earth, chalk, and medicinal flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable, but the medicinal qualities I am getting aren't too pleasant.

Serving type: bottle.

Enjoyed at the brewery on 2/12

Light in color; moderate to little lacing; almost red 'lager' in color; very sweet, tastes A LOT like cherry pie, and sold as such; good beer, but might be a little hard on the belly over time; probably something to enjoy after a meal; almost lambic-y without the heavy sweet.

Review from 9/24/11.

Had this on tap at Freshcraft (my first stop/first beer in Denver, actually). The menu listed this at 4.7% at the time.

Served in an overly stout/chubby snifter. The beer is a ruddy raspberry sherbet/mimosa color with a frothy but minumal white head.

The aroma is leafy and green at first, and then a rush of raspberry sweetness leaps forth... well, that, or maraschino cherries at least. There's also a nice mild bitterness there for balance.

Tastes sweet as hell. It is a cross between NG Belgian Red and a Lindemans Framboise. The cherry flavor is candied and slightly artificial - again the thought of maraschino cherries come to mind.

Smooth body with light carbonation.

Overall I just found this beer to be way too sweet. Not sour at all. I take issue with brewers who claim these types of beers to be Krieks/Lambics/etc. Nothing like the proper thing should be.

Sour! I enjoy sour, beligian beers and am always looking for something different, as other reviewers have said. This tastes just like a sour cherry. Zero syrupy sweetness, but a nice amount of malt to make the sour pleasant.I liked the intense cherry flavor - found it very natural and not candy-like at all. Danced to great blues last night at Oskar Blues in Longmont, CO with a couple glasses of Cherry Kriek to hand.

Corked bottle.

Appearance - didn't expect it to look like that right out of the bottle, first thing that came to mind was that it looked kind of like Rose Sparkling Wine. Even the head was bubbly like it would be.

Smell - sweet and sour, cherries. Nothing special.

Taste - cherries, tart.

Mouthfeel - its alright, no carbonation, light to medium bodied.

Overall - its an alright beer, nothing special. First one of the style, not a huge fan of it, probly wont drink too many of them.

Cherry Kriek comes out looking like you would expect, a deep ruby with good clarity. The smell is pretty sweet, and the flavor backs it up. Not a lot of tartness to it, it's a lot more sweet than anything else.

If you like Krieks but don't like a sour bite, this is for you, but I want the sour to hit the palate hard and it just didn't do that for me.

if a 3 rating means average in the sense of run-of-the-mill standard beer, then this beer is not average at all. it is in fact totally different from any other beer ive had out there, but its average in the sense of its just not that great. pours a pink champaigne looking color with a small bubbly head. smells like artificial cherry candy and yeast. flavor is akin to the cherry topping for a belgian waffle at denny's, in other words canned cherry pie filling. its too sugary and really really fruity. mouthfeel is bubbly and fair, and the beer is rather light bodied, but the sweetness weighs it down. extra points for creativity but the execution it off. a beer my girlfriend might enjoy, but not for me.

Had this in a few different places, but this review is based upon a recent trip to the Rackhouse.
Arrived a maroon color with a pinkish head. Some places serve it in a snifter, but I find the Rackhouse's choice of a champagne flute to be novel since the look is a little like sparkling wine.
The nose is a sweet and sour blend that originates from the cherries, but also from the slightly sour yeast. Inviting, to say the least.
The taste is a hair on the sweet side, but I'd say it's a passable imitation of the Wisconsin Red from New Glarus. Cherries dominate the flavor profile, with just a hint of citric character from the yeast. Hops are only barely there, and probably to keep this from being too much like candy. They don't add a whole lot of flavor or bitterness. There's a bit of malt that pops up here and there to give it a pie character, though.
Mouthfeel isn't quite as carbonated as I initially expected based on the bubbles. It has more texture than similar beers (Quelque Chose being one), but it's thick enough so that it's never fizzy. Tasty stuff, and one of those beers that actually does a pretty fine job of replicating a beer I can't get too often.
Fine work from Strange.

On tap at Rackhouse Pub, figures I might as well give it a shot. Bright pink-red color, looks good to me. Aroma is slight cherries and some bread/grains, average. Flavor was pretty boring, sure it had a decent cherry flavor but that was about it with a little bit of grain at the back. Honestly if you are going to call your beer a kriek I am going to judge it as such and this was a poor kriek. They also get no points for the name since bull and bush already has cheery cherry kriek (which also sucks) and its obivously a lame play on the name of the actual cherry creek since the word kriek already implies cherries.

I had this one on tap at Strange Brewing this afternoon. Poured a cloudy reddish amber color with a small pinkish head. Aromas of sour pie cherries, spice and biscuit. Palate was light to medium bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of sour pie cherries, biscuit and spice.
