Yet another one of those places I'd been meaning to hit up for quite some time. It's in a small nook of a storefront slightly west of I25. There isn't much near it that isn't industrial, so you have to be going there to go there. However, I appreciate people opening in spots that aren't on the beaten path. I wish more places would do that.
When you walk in there a small room with 4-5 tables (and a water tank) that opens into a larger room with a bar and another few tables. All of the brewing equipment is in plain sight right behind the bar. At first glance I'd say it looks like any number of other small breweries, but there's nothing wrong with that at all! It's familiar in a good way.
On this day I got a sampler that included a wit, saison, strong saison, IPA, Belgian IPA, porter, and nitro cherry stout. Everything was solid and retained a true "small batch" flavor. I got a pint of the cherry stout since it was unique, but I'd happily get a pint of anything they had sans the Belgian IPA, which just wasn't to my personal tastes. No complaints, though - different strokes for different folks. The sampler was also only $6 and sizes were pretty substantial. Pints were only $5, too. While it doesn't sound like much, the free peanut jars are a nice bonus to give you something to snack on and to cleanse your palate a bit.
One thing that was really cool was the vibe. The brewers/owners, some regulars, and even some beer tourists were all there at 3:30PM on a Monday, and you'd think everyone was enjoying a Friday night. Sometimes the intangibles can really make a place shine. In the case of Strange, that's certainly the case.
A cool place that really retains the small brewery feel while showcasing solid offerings and a growing reputation.
I'm definitely heading back and made notes on how to get there via the Light Rail for convenience, too.
Strange is a welcome sight and stands out and reminds me of the friendly microbreweries tucked into small towns across the US more than most places around town.

Not really close to anything except industry in Denver. Was worth the trek, and I'd probably go back, but drive or ride a bike this time. The beer were good, and the atmosphere was decent enough, but somewhat different than other breweries in the area.

divey little warehouse brewery - open garage door (even in the rain) with a permanent looking creep food cart on the other side.

Decent selection of brews - there's a laminated menu but there were also a few chalkboards with various other seasonal things. I sampled the DIPA and a cask IPA which were both pretty good. The pumpkin porter seasonal was pretty bad, though.

Interesting little place - they also had a bottled barleywine for sale, but there weren't enough indications that a purchase would be wise. Probably a 'skip' in the future, but worth checking out.
