divey little warehouse brewery - open garage door (even in the rain) with a permanent looking creep food cart on the other side.
Decent selection of brews - there's a laminated menu but there were also a few chalkboards with various other seasonal things. I sampled the DIPA and a cask IPA which were both pretty good. The pumpkin porter seasonal was pretty bad, though.
Interesting little place - they also had a bottled barleywine for sale, but there weren't enough indications that a purchase would be wise. Probably a 'skip' in the future, but worth checking out.

I just reviewed my notes on our brewery trip to CO and noticed that a had not reviewed Strange Brewery. This is from notes taken after the visit two weeks ago.
Strange Brewery is at the end of a small strip mall next to I- 23 in Denver. It's small but there were plenty of people there on this weekend afternoon. The weather was great and several bicyclists were outside on the patio drinking a beer and getting something from the food truck. You could bring your pooch and sit outside. The inside is split into tree different rooms. The one off to the right is not finished but I guess it could be used if the weather turned since the main room where the bar is was filled as was the adjacent one off to the left. There are tables for parties of two to six between the two rooms. I could see out towards the back it looked like the brewers were enjoying a couple of beers with some friends or maybe it was the end of a brewery tour and they were sampling some. A chalk board on the wall lists which beers are available that day. There were about eight and all brewed there. There were no guest beers.
A couple of seats at the bar opened up and we took them. I had the IPAphany IPA and shared a pretzel with my friend. The bartender was quick with the beers and heated the pretzel in a toaster oven. the beers are $5 and the pretzel was$3. The beer was very good but I would skip their pretzels and try the food truck. The pretzel was cold in the middle. We moved off to the other room and had a chat with a couple who stopped for a beer with their family. About this time I did notice there was a server working. I think he had been outside in the back hang out and joking about his black eye.
Overall, I would recommend this place for a quick beer. It seems to be popular with the locals. It's friendly enough but kind of a dive is my first and most lasting impression. I can't recall exactly what music was playing; but I think it was classic rock. I could imagine the band Cream playing the song "Strange Brew". It seems so fitting.

Went with a couple friends since I had a Groupon style coupon for $30 for $15.
Found at the end of an industrial park building. A food truck tent set up at a garage door opening. Entered to find a large group of drunk bar hopping people dressed up as gladiators with armor made of PBS 24 pack boxes (later we shared a table with a couple regulars that said that it is usually never this loud and busy). Passed through to the bar area where there were a few tables. A couple small short tables for two people then about three longer taller ones with bar stools. The bar had about 7-8 bar stools. A variety of chalk boards show off what is on tap and coming soon.
A tall table opens up and we grab it. A menu shows what the food truck that day is offering while another talks about the beers. The taster sampler for $15 works just right for us. No wait staff so hit the bar where we are taken care of fairly quickly. The deal gets us two samplers of almost all of their beers. Thanks to the drunk bar hop people they have to give us trays vs the wooden sampler holder but not a big problem. I survey the set up. If the trucks food isn't what I want they offer baked pretzels and pretzel dogs. They even sell dog treats made from spent grain (not theirs but still different). A empty popcorn maker sits off to the side with a sign that if there is a food truck there, it is shut down. Too bad they make you have to pay for food if all you might want is to share some popcorn with friends over your beers.
Not reviewing the beers since I just got tasters but I have to say that the oaked DIPA that wasn't part of the taster tray was the best I thought.

Love to find these small nano breweries in odd places, usually in a garage or warehouse. This one is right around the corner from Mile High field and has a decent selection of their brews. They do rotate in weekly batches release on Wednesday or Thursday. They have closed one of the sitting rooms, as I think they will be expanding their operations soon. So there is not a whole lot of room to grab to a seat if they are busy. Service is ok, normally has two people (one running the tables and one behind the bar), so service can be slow. Overall a great find in the beer crazy town of Denver.
