SBC is another craft beer Colorado success story. The proprietor & brewer Tim Myers, was active in the Denver homebrew community and struck out on his own with Strange in 2010. He's since garnered GABF medals and a whole host of followers like me who take pleasure in his work. His Farmhouse Ale - a Saison - is the best of class in my book. Strange has just expanded their space and has a very nice patio for enjoying Tim's superb beers. If you're coming from out of town, it's off the beaten path and not in the beer mecca of Lodo and instead in obscure industrial zone west of downtown. Be sure to map it out.

So Rob and I are working through the local breweries as home brewers that dig the equipment and taste variations; I choose this place for a visit. Great time had by all! We did the 10 pack taster... most of the beers were good, I thought the best were the Cherry variations, the worst was the porter.. nondescript. The bartender took us through the operations area and seemed knowledgeable about the beer making process. It's not a 1 bbl shoppe anymore; 10 bbl now. There's a very comfortable atmosphere.. I settled in on the IPA variations, Rob bounced around the darker stuff. BTW, Kudos to Brewster's owner for adding a mascot for the evening. Brewster's a mega-corgi mix with a big smile and great attitude.

Stop # 248 on my world brewery tour.

Visited on the Thursday of GABF around 3:00 which didn't leave a ton of time to relax and enjoy the place.

A surprisingly nice environment in an otherwise nondescript industrial row on the west side of downtown Denver. I walked out with the reinforced belief that if you brew it (excellent beer), they will come find it which is the case here.

Small "lounge" up front along with a garage door that opens to create a patio area in the parking lot. A taco truck steps from that but I'm not sure if that is always there or not.

My buddy and I split the sampler. All beers were excellent and the cherry Kriek was among the best of that style that I've had. The people working/volunteering there were all super friendly and loved what they were doing.

Strange began as a nano brewery using 55 gallon Blichmann equipment and is now up to a 7 bbl system.

I live in Denver and have been to nearly every micro-brewery or brewpub along the Front Range (Ft. Collins, Boulder, Denver, Colorado Springs) and this is my favorite - for the great quality of the beer, the cozy & welcoming atmosphere, the fellow beer-loving customers, etc. I take a growler home a few times a month, and though I like several of the beers a lot, I always come back to their Pale Ale, perhaps the best made beer in that category I've ever had. Atmosphere is very basic, no food to speak of aside from the popcorn machine and the food truck stationed there when the "patio" is open on weekends, though I've never tried it. Lots of other very good micros around but, to repeat, I put Strange at the top of the list.

FINALLY hit this place with Ratman and Emmasdad on Wednesday afternoon/early evening. A bit out of the way but definitely worth it. I tried three of their offerings and their Paint It Black was quite delicious. Also tried their Cherry Kriek which was very good--sour cherry apple pie in a glass--as well as their Tainted Black IPA. All three were very good to say the least.Tasting room is quite small but no one seems to mind--everyone's there for the beer, right? Complimentary pretzels and peanuts is it on the food side but, hey, you're there for the beer, right? I will most definitely be back.

Hidden gem of a brewery stashed in the industial area between I-25 and the power plant west of downtown. Nice little well lit tasting room although a bit on the small side..Kind of like hanging out at a friends place. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Usually at least seven beers on tap at reasonable prices. Now that they have thier seven barrel system they are planning a series of one off beers on their one barrel system. I'm looking forward to these Beers. Free popcorn, peanuts and pretzles. Good value and good times well worth checking out.

Having recently been given a few coupons for this place, I was looking forward to trying it out. Finally got the chance today. I stopped by this afternoon with Schmittymack and Ratman. This was my first time, and I left very impressed. I had the opportunity to try six of the beers on tap, and all were quite good. Additionally they offered complimentary pretzels and peanuts. $4 pints on tues and weds. Im very much looking forward to returning. Highly recommended, a great new addition to the Denver beer scene.

Not the kind of place you stumble upon. Located in a strip "mall" off the major highway I-25.

Quiet and comfortable, you walk through the acting area to get to the bar. The bartender is friendly and knowledgable with a good understanding of the beers and brewing process.

Selection isn't huge but there is probably something for most beer drinkers. Quality, however is very good. The IPA I had was well made and enjoyable.

It's not a busy or hectic place to go have a beer an I really like that about Strange. A nice place to enjoy a craft beer and enjoy the company you're with.

Our final beer stop in CO, and frankly even I was beered out by this time.

Strange Brewing located in an industrial strip mall not far from the Mile High Stadium just west of downtown Denver.

When we arrived we spotted the food vendor and the smell of something good.

Near the food vendor on the patio are a few seats to sit outside. Walking into Strange the bar is located directly opposite of the bar. There is a little seating area with about 4 tables that is some what separate. There is also a rail with stools near the bar. There were about 6-7 beers on tap, but to be honest we were tired and went for a Cherry Kriek, and a Gluten Free Lemon Pale Ale (it was so bad that I can’t even remember what style it was). I hereby swear to never drink another gluten free beer again. The Cherry Kriek was very good but it was $8 or so a pint.

We liked this place and would have enjoyed it more if it weren’t the last stop on our beercation.

We did order the Mediterranean Plate and Stuffed Jalapeños from the food vendor, and loved them. They also have a Thursday special which is $1 an ounce steak. MMM….

This place is located on the outer part of Denver. We took a cab from Great Divide to get here. Very easy to miss, at least for our cab driver.

Located in a strip mall in an industrial suite. We walked into the front room where there were chairs and tables to sit down. That led to another room to the left and the bar a little further back in another room. About ten seats at the bar and they had ten or so of their beers on draft for purchasing.

We did a flight of all ten beers and scored some rare treats too. Especially their cherry pie kriek which was very edible. There is a beer there to at least suit everyone.

The quality, service, and selection was good. We were among a few people in the brewery so we got a lot of attention, got to sample all the beer they head, and talk with the employees and brewmaster. They also fill up growlers too.

They don't serve food and they do take cash and credit. Overall, this was a great addition to the brewery scene in Denver and worth the trip off the beaten path. We even got a ride to Renegade down the street from some employees since it was snowing outside and we were going to walk.

Another new place in Denver. It's hard for me to rate atmosphere on these places. For a beer geek, it's pretty good. Simple, stripped down, money concentrates on the beer. And it is a tap room, not a pub. Still, some tap rooms are better...some are worse. So this one gets an 'average'. Nothing wrong with that.
Hard to find, at least for me. I came from Federal and got lost. Coming from the East seems easier
It's a small place, perhaps 25 people can sit. Reminds me a bit of the old Dry Dock tap room. They've expanded, and hopefully one day Strange will reach the profits to be able to do so.
Friendly service. I like being called "hon".
Several beers on tap. I tried 'em all, can't complain

Not really close to anything except industry in Denver. Was worth the trek, and I'd probably go back, but drive or ride a bike this time. The beer were good, and the atmosphere was decent enough, but somewhat different than other breweries in the area.

This little gem is just west of downtown Denver in an industrial area and has a gritty charm about it.

I purchased a flight of all 8 beers on tap (only $6). Despite this being a small operation, they have a nice range. My favorite was the Belgian farmhouse ale and they also had a nice wit and kriek on tap, both of which were refreshing after my bike ride in.

Overall, this is a friendly place with good beers. A great place to chill after work. It is somewhat new and still has a feeling of experimentation about it. Definitely worth stopping in now so that you can say you knew about them before they got big.

I happened to visit this place during a party but still easily got a flight. The IPA was good, but I appreciated the uniqueness in the mouth feel of the cherry bomb stout. Atmosphere was grand, much like you would imagine out of a family owned brewery. Selection was also good to maybe even slightly better than good. I would happily visit this place again and recommend it to all who visit Denver.
