22 oz. bottle, just received at Hanson St. Liquor. Thanks Amar. Label claims a blend of double Icky
IPA, jalapenos, and juniper berry. Commemorating the 20th anniversary of Great Basin Brewing.
A- Dark orange, slightly murky brew, with a 1/4" stable head. Medium carbonation, with bubbles
streaming from only 1 side of an iced, flared top, purple coke glass. Sorry, all that was available to
me. Murky never bothers me in an IPA.
S- Very hoppy aroma, a slight pepper smell, and lots of malt sweetness. A bit too cold, and after a proper warmup, the malt intensifies, and the pepper comes on stronger, but no juniper in the nose.
T- Strong bitterness up front. As the beer warms, the pepper and juniper berries come on stronger. Still a ton of malt sweetness no matter what the drinking temp may be. Whoa, strong
overpowering juniper finish, lingering quite a while. Very little alcohol perceptible due all that's
going on here.
M- Sweet, sticky, oily, thick beer. Pepper not hot on the tongue to me, but I am known
for enjoying the hottest of dishes.
O- Quite a bit going on here. Tough to review a beer that doesn't fit any common style.
Some overpowering tastes at times, trading back and forth. Not particularly balanced, but not sure if it's meant to be. Glad I tried it.
