My sister lives in Jax and picked me up a growler. Poured in a snifter, the beer is a hazed, almost opaque, orange-highlighted amber coloring with a thin, filmy, clingy, off-white head. Aromas of old world fruit forward, with plum, date, and raisin most noticeable. Subtle spicing of clove and cinnamon, with booze highlights and funky, fruity esters. Flavors are date forward, with a subtle spicing of nutmeg and cinnamon surrounding the palate. The initial burst of flavor prepares you for a rough ride, but the beer really smooths out quickly and nicely into a very drinkable, dare I say light Quad. More flavors reveal as you drink, including some fig and plum notes, with woody and earthy highlights, also. There is a warmth building slowly towards the tail end of the brew, with a nice, slightly booze kissed, richly sweet aftertaste. The body is smooth, but again surprisingly light, increasing the drinkability of this otherwise big, beefy beer. Smooth, slightly lingering finish with a building warmth that makes this beer a great holiday warmer. I really hope this gets put into an annual rotation!

This one was the 12th of a 12 day of Christmas series in 2012. I dont think any of the others were added unfortunately.
A: no head really on a murky copper amber body.
S: strawberry, raisin, yeast, caramel malt and candied citrus.
T: plum, brown sugar, caramel malt, candied fruits and belgian yeast. Thebooze are incredibly well hidden for the ABV.
M: thick, oily body and low to moderate carbonation.
Overall: Usually these are too sweet but this one isnt sweet enough. The alcohol is very well hidden Also, the fruit to me is more citrusy than dark fruit.
