I have had this twice in recent days and this stout is clearly one of the better dark ales on Engine 15's current line up of 40+ taps. While the aroma lingered and I waited for it to warm up to bring forth it true character, I watched it as if something magical was going to happen. The jet black stout didn't even bubble much as the nitrogen seemed to make it react like pudding or mud to slight swirls of the glass.
When the appointed time came to taste it, this ale was a welcome pairing to the beer-dipped cheese & ham sandwich with chips served at Engine 15's grill room on Beach Blvd, near Jacksonville Beach, FL. The medium to heavy body of the ale had the chocolate pudding flavor I was thinking of and it was very smooth in its delivery. I was also thinking of pumpernickel bread for some reason.
The overall taste and composition of the ale makes it a winning choice any time I visit Engine 15 and I hope that it will be released in 750's or 22's in the future.

Half finger off white head with nice lacing on a very dark body, little light getting through. Aroma of dark chocolate, caramel, some coffee and roasted malts. Overall aroma is a little on the light side. Flavor follows along the same lines with vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee and roast up front finishing with some creamed vanilla and mild dark fruit. Full body and light to moderate carbonation. Very drinkable, want a little more from the coffee to balance the sweetness otherwise a nice brew.
