Sep. 2011: 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 5.5%. Hazy deep golden colour, large white head. Sweetish wheaty aroma with strong notes of banana and cloves. The flavour is malty and wheaty with hints of caramel, banana, citrus and cloves, but also with a distinct presence of German and American hops. Fairly bitter finish and aftertaste, some grassy notes. Not bad.

The colour is gold (8 EBC), the liquid is clear. The beer is bottle conditioned. The two finger head is white. It sinks quickly leaving no lacing.
The smell got distinct sour-phenolic wheat flavours. Some American citric flavours, some sharp sweetness and clean bitter flavours. Hints of mature apples, oranges and wheat dough, cloves and fruit candy. It is a mixed bag, but it works.
The taste is at first bitter. Then, smooth elegant spicy wheat-notes kicks in. They fade rather quickly, leaving room for a clean sweetness, fruity flavour and a balanced bitterness. Medium body. The aftertaste is semi-sweet and balanced with preserved fruit, fresh bitterness and some spicy notes. The long finish got some alcohol and even more bitterness.
The carbonation is fresh with lots of somewhat sharp bubbles. The liquid is semi-smooth.
I was sceptic when I read the “Wheat IPA” description on the label, but I think it works out well: The sweetness would have been too much if it wasn’t for the fresh bitter flavours.

A clouded light amber, a white head, little lacing but good curtains.
Bananas, spices and grape-fruit.
Sweet cardamom buns, some bitter orange notes.
Medium low carbonation, soft texture going over to a coarse dryness. A good body.
A nice bite in this one, both spicy and hoppy.
