Pours amber with an off white head - good retention and lacing.
Floral and citrus in the nose with a bit of toffee in the background.
Mild hop bitterness alternates with toffee flavored chewy malt. Herbal and floral hops come through most, with a little citrus - bitter orange - in the end. There are definitely better double IPAs out there. This drinks more like an ESB. Its good. I would just put it in a different category.

Poured from a growler into a plastic motel cup (not optimal) it had a honey golden hue with a thin lacing of foam that persisted on the surface. Little to no carbonation. Also it had virtually no aroma. On first sip the beer was silky, sweet, wanting to creep into a gulp from a sip. Overall taste is caramely in an indulgent way, slightly toffee- ish with prune-ish undertones counterbalanced by a note of bitterness in the aftertaste which tends to overstay its welcome. No hoppiness whatsoever. Why?? The ample ABV also comes through in the taste. Satistfyingly clean mouthfeel. Overall solidly enjoyable, but nothing popped out to make it memorable.
