Meridian Pint is #2 on my list of great bars in DC (after Churchkey), but its certainly the bar I visit most often. I live about a mile away and this is my favorite "neighborhood" bar to go to.
They have a great tap list, which changes often. And the list of available beers is accurate just about all of the time. They host a number of events each month, and are very supportive of the local beer movement (breweries and home-brewers). Tuesdays are "Bombers for Brewers" night, where customers can leave with the empty 22oz bombers that they've saved throughout the week to use for their own beers. They also host home-brew competitions which then open up to the public for tasting.
The food at the bar is good. I would not say I've been blown away by anything I've ever ordered, but I'm never disappointed either. The menu is a bit more complex than typical "pub grub", and they have plenty of Vegetarian options also. I have only had dinner here, so I'm not familiar with any of their other menus.
The ambiance of the bar might be it's best quality. The main floor is set-up like a typical bar. Booths, low tables, and a long high- table with stools offer plenty of options for different size parties. There are also garage-style glass doors which open to a small outdoor patio when the weather is nice. I've never felt crowded upstairs, despite the number of people. The lower level is also a great mix. Shuffleboard, billiards, table taps, and a relaxing area with big leather chairs. It's a mix of a Irish pub and a modern american bar.
Only a short walk from the Columbia Heights metro (10 mins), this bar is worth the trip away from downtown DC.

Formerly located in the Adams-Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC, Meridian Pint is now located at the end of a small strip mall, which is about a 10-minute drive from the Ballston Metro Station (which is a 10-minute walk to Rustico). It is rather small, having a medium size dining room and a (very) small bar in the back. I thought it tight and cramped. The beer selection is amazing; it includes about 25 well-chosen taps of primarily local crafts, as well as a nice variety of styles. Something for every palate. The menu is a step above the cliched pub grub, which includes Bacon and Boursin Burger. And, no … I have no idea what "boursin" is. The burger was wonderful. If you don't like a DUI, the Metro bus stops right in front.

Shotgun style corner bar with a gameroom basement.
Actual bar seats a dozen or so with high and low top tables seating about 60 total. TV's are unobtrusive and the music is varied and still allows for easy conversation.
Service was pleasant, understanding, and aware.
20 or so tap handles but a few were kicked and not replaced. Server stated they had been busy. I hope their distributer gets there with more for Saturday and Sunday, or at least I hope it wasn't a choice not to replace them. I'll leave open the possibility they had a surprise tap takeover planned for the next day and had been intentionally letting them kick.
What the list did show was a pretty broad range of styles that leaned local yet still reached across the country.
Food was good, but nothing you wouldn't see everywhere else.

New place in Arlington:
A bit smaller of a place, but also with a bit newer of an interior decor. Bar only seats about a dozen, with a couple of community tables in the divided section. The main dining area has about 12 4-seat tables, some of which can be split or combined. The food seems to be as big a focus as the beer at this place - not sure if that is much of a change or not.
The tap list is about 20 beers, although they had the same issue with some items kicked and not replaced that the original location had. The focus is mostly local beers (Virginia / DC), then regional craft, with a few from further away. A fair selection of IPAs, new-age sours, and stouts were on during our latest visit, with a bit more lighter offerings and lagers on our previous visit in the summer.
Overall, the food seemed a step up from our one visit to the old location, but the beer, vibe, and service were all about the same level, if in slightly different form.
Original review, original location:
A nice little place with a medium size bar and restaurant seating upstairs and a downstairs with another bar and a few seats and table games. The beer list had about a couple dozen offerings, though a handful of them were kicked late on a Friday. There ware no replacements being offered, making the selection slightly less robust in actuality. Ignoring this, the beers that were on the list did cross quite a few styles. There was also a mix of local, regional, and national breweries though leaning more towards the former items in the list.

Nice bar in Adams-Morgan. A short hike from the Metro. Nice wooden bar, TVs, good service. Nice draft selection of local MD/DC/NoVA beers, including Aslin. They also had bottle pours each time I was there, like KBS. Solid spot, good food- the scallops were nice. It's a fun place to hang out in the evening and relatively accessible.

I try to find fault when I'm tempted to give a rating of 5 in any category. I'm having trouble finding fault here. We visited late on a Saturday night, service was excellent, beers were on point. Ordered some nachos which were delicious. Prices were fair and the half-pour option is very much appreciated so that I can sample more choices. I won't hesitate to return next time I'm in the area.

Meridian Pint is the best beer bar in D.C. because they hit on every aspect of craft beer drinking very well. There are two distinct but enjoyable vibes between the upstairs and downstairs. While the upstairs is more of a dining room atmosphere, the downstairs is essentially an adult playground filled with bar games, TVs, and even pour your own beers. Their selection of beers is always very well curated and properly handled. They keep a wide range of styles on drafts and in bottle. The servers are knowledgeable about the product and generally attentive. The food is excellent by bar food standards and downright good even by DC restaurant standards. This place can appease just about anyone looking to grab a beer and tasty food.

All around good spot. Solid food, pretty good draft list, and really solid bottle list. While the draft list when I visited wasn't mind blowing, the bottle list had two jester kings (I've never seen any in the belt way before) and parabola (all the more amazing since it was 11 months after it was released). Would definitely recommend this place

Meridian Pint is a nicely appointed beer bar. If you'd be looking for more ambiance, I don't know what your standards are. The local selection is good. Beyond that, it's so-so. The food is typical. The ceviche is outstanding.
