Can dated 7/28/2017. Poured into Fullsteam pint glass. It pours a cloudy, almost opaque golden-amber color with two fingers of fluffy, gelato-looking head and lots of soapy lacing. The nose is subdued: there is subtle rye, pine, floral hops, and just the slightest whiff of blueberry. However, you can definitely taste the blueberry, along with rye. And there is the unmistakable taste of mosaic hops. There is also a subtle note of melon. The hops are only moderately bitter. The can doesn't list the IBU but Fullsteam typically brews "southern" IPAs that are on the malt side of the spectrum. The rye and blueberry blend nicely and give this IPA a unique flavor. This ale is medium-bodied, with a fairly creamy mouth feel, moderate carbonation, and a very manageable 7% ABV. Overall I found Rabbit Eye to be a somewhat unique, and thoroughly enjoyable, American IPA. It's worth seeking out.

Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is a golden copper coloring, bright and clear, with a steady flow of carbonation throughout. Tall, chunky, foamy, off-white head sits like a crown. Aromas of bitter rye heavy in the front, with subtle sweet blueberry notes, grassy and piney hops character, and some earthy tones. Flavors are very tart and sweet blueberry forward, almost puckering the taste buds, followed by the roasted and bitter grain and rye notes. Some citrus highlights are present from the hops profile, and they help blend nicely with the blueberry. Bready and earthy backbone, with a good balance of fruit sweet and hops/rye bitter lingering on in the aftertaste. The body is smooth and light, kept crisp by the carbonation and dry from the hops. The finish is quick, crisp, and clean, with only a slight tart linger. Pretty unique beer.
