If you want to get here fromt he strip, take cab to the Palms Casino and walk the 10 minutes to get here. Definte local Vegas bar feel here as there is a large sqaure bar with video poker at each station. Shuffleboard table here too ! Music was blasting off the jukebox.

Beerwise there were about 20 drafts with a nice variety of pale ales to DIPA to RIS. Dogfish Head, Mission, Coronado, SNPA, Lagunitas, Firestone, Ballast Point, and Goose Island were some of the breweries represented on this trip. I enjoyed a Mission RIS and a Firestone Double Jack.

The service was very friendly and talkative, and quick to get your order. This place is worthy of a trip for any BA that is on the strip looking for a off-beat place to enjoy some good beers.

Decided to take the almost 1 mile walk from the Rio down to Money Plays, and was seriously glad I did...

The bar itself is not much to look at, and service was a bit slow... On the other hand, they have easily the best selection and pricing anywhere near the strip.

I had a Dogfish World Wide Stout and a 120 minute at $15 each. Both excellent, and if they weren't 20% ABV, I would have had another.. Staff was helpful, and beer knowledgable...

Great destination, probably the best beer bar near the strip. Reasonably priced beers vs overpriced beers on the strip e.g. Burger Bar. Rotating taps at this place ensures variety. It can get crowded at peak times on the weekends, however this is a must visit destination for beeradvocates.

Visited Money Plays with two friends from the East coast. We were staying on the strip and escaped for good beers, which are difficult to find in Vegas. We enjoyed the selection, and the service was outstanding. Nick is a great guy, knows beer, and is more than happy to help with selection or to chat about brews.

It was nice to get beers from Deschutes (Mirror Pond Pale Ale and Black Butte Porter) which we can't get here. Other greats from Ballast Point and Lagunitas were enjoyed. The Indian Wells Evan Williams Whisky Barrel Amber was excellent and I had my first 120 Minute from DFH.

If you selected where to stay in Vegas based on ambiance then you should know that it is located in a strip mall. Atmosphere is what one should expect in such a location and had poker, tvs, darts, and shuffleboard. We had a blast.

I highly recommend a visit. It is a short cab ride from the strip and the service is terrific. Selection is solid.

Part of the LV/SD/OC work week rolling into weekend package, I hit up Money Plays as my first drinking stop of the week, hearing of the Sculpin on tap (always so magical on tap in LV for some reason, both Aces & Money Plays have killer fresh Sculpin when I've been there) and shuffleboard, I guess I made it a priority. Plus staying at the Orleans made it uber convenient. Meeting up w/ jh1982 for the first time since he moved down to the LV also made this a good opportunity to check the place out as well.

You go inside of a place located in a typical strip mall in a city like LV, lots of video poker inside the square bar, some tvs, a big projection screen, some tables, a golden tee game or two. And of course, the shuffleboard, which is quite nice and classic looking (and plays straight too).

I think there was like 24 taps probably. All time classic like Sculpin, some off the beaten path stuff and up and comers (Noble ESB and Squatters Outer Darkness (hold shit) for example). Pretty good bottle list at good bar prices, I think we got a 3F or hanssens kriek for only like 50% more than I would pay in a bottle shop, tops.

I probably wouldn't rate the atmosphere so high if it weren't for the great service, Nick really is probably worth his weight in gold to the craft beer crowd (and the non craft crowd seemed to like and respect him as well) for this place, he can talk a mean game, friendly, informative. If you want to dislike him, its pretty easy though, the guy has a friendly, cute girlfriend who makes kick ass homebrew wild ales, fuckin' pineapple sour, damn. Again, really helps out the atmosphere.

Aside from that, winning on some video blackjack, winning on some shuffleboard, winning on some sculpin, winning on some great homebrew, winning on some kick ass cheap Mexican food from next door that they bring over to you, how can you not like money plays. Highly recommended if you're staying in Vegas, and trying to stay away from the strip, which is also, highly recommended.

Stan & Nick(Here4Beer) are quietly establishing Money Plays as a top-tier beer bar in Las Vegas. 24 rotating taps and a bottle list nearing 100, its a nice alternative to the mostly pedestrian choices on the Strip.

The service is always outstanding. The bartenders know the product and are always willing to give recommendations and let you know when something new has arrived or will arrive. My girlfriend doesn't like beer, but has been turned on to Wells Banana Bread and Rogue Hazelnut thanks to staff suggestions. They also have regular offerings from Ballast Point, Uinta, Wasatch or Noble Ale Works.

Considering value, this place is a steal. If it were anywhere but Vegas, it'd be average. But considering quality of product and location, it really is a bargain. Expect to pay at least 10%-20% less than you will on the strip.

Overall, its a great place to have a beer away from the bells and whistles of the casinos. There are a lot of bars in town, but only a few involved in expanding the beer culture in Las Vegas. This is one of them.

I have driven by this pub for years and because of the recent BA reviews I stopped in.I took an instant liking to it, whats not to like, a dive bar open 24/7 attached to a Mexican restaurant open 24/7, a friendly staff, a decent tap selection with a much bigger bottle selection.
For beer I tried the Ballast Point Sculpin, first time for this and a little to much citrus for me but also an excellant beer.Next was a bottle of the Dogfish Head Immort Ale,this is called an American Strong Ale but I think most would call it a Barleywine,11%ABV. this is my first time for this also and I really liked it, It tasted like oak aging.
I tried two items from the restaurant and both were very good.
This pub will become a regular stop for me.

I finally got to try this place recently, they have really been expanding there beer selection and it shows. They have a great selection by Vegas standards including fresh sculpin when I was there last. There selection on bottles is also very impressive. You can even get most of the beers by the yard if that is your thing.

The bartender Nick is a great guy and also very knowledge on beer, he can answer all of your questions and make some great recommendations if you need.

The food is provided by a Mexican restaurant that is connected to Money plays and the food is pretty standard, but it is very cheaply priced and it is great for absorbing the alcohol.

Overall, it is a great place to spend some time and relax with a good beer, and since it is a lot closer to the strip, it is a lot easier for those without a car to get to.

A diamond in the rough would best describe Money Plays. The bar is tucked in a strip mall almost eclipsed by the nearby Palms Place tower. The green lights and big sign make the bar inviting.
Once inside it resembles a sports bar with an entrance to the next door neighbors (which is a mexican restaurant).

The beers are always rotating with selections from Stone, Green Flash, Dogfish, Squatters and a few other regional breweries. In addition there is the Bud Light for the gamers.

The service is awesome and very personable. The owner and bartender Nick (Here4Beer) are very knowledgeable and try their best to get in good beer. Their prices are very reasonable. You can get a 1/2 yard of any beer if that is your thing. Recently someone tried to drink a 1/2 yard of 120 minute on tap. ?!?

The Mexican restaurant next door is open 24/7. They serve up pretty good mexican fare.

If you are in town or a local the place is a great alternative to the nearby Strip. Some Ba's are usually there on Sunday nights chatting it up with Nick.

Money Plays has been slowly turning itself into a little hidden gem for the Vegas beer scene. Its a bit divey, but its the closest of any of the beer bars from the strip (a block West of the Palms on Flamingo). The bartops have video poker, there are a few arcade machines, darts, and shuffleboard. Plenty of stuff to keep you occupied while drinking.

The draft list is always rotating, with a blend of some good entry level craft beers. Stuff from Wasatch, Squatters, Moylans, Rogue, and Widmer were on...as well as your basic BMC, Guinness, and Pabst. The bottle selection has a much larger variety, and has plent of Belgians along with hidden gems like La Folie and the Brewdog extreme beers.

The service is top notch, with a particularly knowlegable staff. Stan the owner and Nick (a BA member) are awesome. They have plenty of drink specials and the regular prices are good too.

This place has come a long ways recently and Ive started recommending it to more people...

Definitely a locals spot simply because not enough tourists know about this hole-in-the-wall (or hidden gem as I would call it)! It's a bit of a dive bar, but I come for the well rounded beer selection! They have at least 15+ taps with many of them constantly rotating, and a decent size bottle list. They also have video poker, darts, shuffle board, and foosball! They even do half yards of beer, it that's what you're into. If you're in the neighborhood or want to get off the strip, I think it's worth the trip!

If you come in on a Sunday night, you're likely to run into some fellow beer geeks, including Nick, the bartender.

I checked this place out before a show at the Palms. It's just down the street. The atmosphere is like your average dive bar. They had Widmere Hef and Deadlift IPA, Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada Tumbler brown, and Speakeasy double daddy IPA on tap. I saw Goulden Draak, Lagunitas Brown Shugga and Dogfish Head Old School Barleywine advertised on a board. I enquired about the Barleywine and was told it was $15! I stuck with the Double Daddy IPA for $5. Great IPA. They had a happy hour advertised I think that ran until 7pm. $2 bud, $3 widmere hef, and $4 widmere ipa.
The Palms didn't have much to offer for beer, so I'd come here if you're looking for an IPA near the hotel.
