Simtra Triple IPA delivers a punch in the face with its very danky hop aroma derived from Simcoe and Citra hops. You wanted more hops you got them.

Poured from bottle into chilled pint glass. I could smell the poontang on this piece of ass right from the start...holy sheet, Batman! We're in for a great ride here. Beautiful orange/amber and cloudy pour. Nice 2" fluffy white thick head. Excellent bubbles and lacing throughout. The nose is extremely piney and "swanky danky", like a piece of ass about to "get focked", to borrow a phrase from Tony Montana. The palate reveals a sweet mouthful of joy, one of the best I've experienced. Lovely and full citrusy hop profile, with sweet papaya/mango notes balancing the bitter piney/grapefruit. It's no wonder some call this brew "Pliny Killer". It is every bit as good (if not better) than Elder. No shit. Mouthfeel is full and warming. This beotch is "fo ree-al"'. Don't miss it!!!

Bottled on 1/18/14. 22oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy glowing burnt orange; fluffy white head that slowly fades leaving great lacing and retention. The aromas are loaded with pineapple. Lots of tropical notes. Hints of mango too. There are also caramel malt notes blended in. Sweet fruity aromas. The flavors seem to match the aromas. More pineapple, which seems to be the star as far as fruit goes. Lots of pine needles and pine resin too. Some grapefruit followed by some orange zest. There's a very solid malt backbone, but the hops still shine and do their thing. Although this is a bitter bruiser, it's still balanced and very smooth. The alcohol goes completely unnoticed for such a big beer. There's barely any warmth and it's not boozy at all. Mouthfeel is full-bodied, but feels lighter than it is with moderate carbonation. Slightly slick. This is beer is truly dangerously drinkable.

This is a pretty impressive brew. Everything is smooth for a "Triple IPA". Balance is the key. Well crafted and it's worth checking out if given the opportunity. It's fun to drink. I never would've guessed this was 131 IBU.

A- Pours a slightly hazy copper with frothy/thick bubbles and head that dissipates on the quick side but maintains a thin layer and strong lacing.

S- Sweet malt and citrus/piney hops immediately flood the nose, very powerful and wonderful.

T- Very similar to the nose, so great. A touch of sweet malty flavor hits first followed by a very powerful hop presence that balances so well. I could drink this all day if it wasn't...11.25% ABV? Holy cow. Masked very well. The large of amount of hops and bitterness combined with the great flavor masks how strong this is. Finishes dry and with more of the hop bite. While the malt/citrus taste comes first the hop/pine flavor finishes.

M- Medium to light body and carbonation. Very smooth and easy drinking. Again, 11.25%? What? Not sure how they do it.

O- A MUST find for any lover of imperial IPA's. This beer packs a big punch but you wouldn't know it from the masterful balance of flavor and light mouthfeel. Combined with some of the best aromas i've seen this is a real world class beer.

Big thanks to Orthodoxkardia.

22oz bottle with 01/18/14 on the side. Lots of lacing. Pours a burnt amber color with an inch of head. The aroma is lots of juicy tropical fruits. Pineapple, mango, orange, and sweet grapefruit. The taste is boozey with bitter tropical fruits and citrus hops. Grapefruit, pineapple, and some piney hops. Bitter and boozey. Fair amount of malt flavor but this thing is hops dominated. Creamy mouthfeel. I'm a sucker for "Triple IPAs" and this one is up there with Hopsickle, Devil Dancer, Hi Res etc. Overall, fantastic brew I'm glad I got to try.
