Tasted in a 10 ounce snifter at The Library Alehouse SM CA 4.19.13 First off, the nose has notes of pine, citrus and grapefruit. Great lace a resiny feel. Taste is almost too much to bear. I mean that in a good way. Pine needles, tree sap and surfboard resin. If you like Simtra you will love Hopoholic. Must find some more.

From Knee Deep Website. Part of their MEPS 2013:
March 2013 – Knee Deep will be releasing a really big Imperial IPA, we’re talking HUGE. So big, that we are wondering if its still an IPA. Specs: 15.5 % ABV, 138 IBU’s. This will be big and will be a rotating beer throughout the year. (Beer will have limited distribution) UPDATE: First beer of the Extreme Beer Series will be relased during the first week of March 2013. Hopoholic 4x IPA set to release in draft and bottles to soon follow.
Not sure how to rate this. They called this 4XIPA. It did not taste like 15.5% ABV and it did not taste like an IPA. I like their Simtra (11% ABV) but this is a different animal.
A: Deep amber
S: Sweet grapefruit and hops
T: Not like any triple IPAs. It tastes sweet and heavy. Reminds me of Good from Alpine, which is in the 15-18% ABV if I remember correctly.
M: Very thick for an IPA
O: It is a good beer if you are in the mood for something strong and different. More like a good strong ale or sweet barleywine than an IPA.
