Thanks to labrat for the trade, enjoyed with tenderbranson69 -poured chilled in an IPA glass from the bomber.

The color is dark amber with great clarity and 3 finger cream head with fine bead and visible carbonation with thick/clumpy lace pattern. The smell is very juicy with citrus/fruity smell with herbal hop and slight orange rind grapefruit quality with mild yeast ester and gentle sweet malt in the mix. The feel is great -very light for such a strong beer with juicy resinous and moderately carbonated with medium high bitterness and light sweetness mid-palate with balanced feel and mild alcohol warmth in the back.

The taste is very citrus and slight floral flavor with gentle grapefruit type bitterness from the hops with light peppery element and mild malt comes in the taste with a caramel quality and blends with a more assertive alcohol flavor from mid-palate on with a light sweet/bitter lasting taste. Overall pretty strong alcohol is the only thing holding this back with an equal amount of hop intensity -pretty extraordinary for such a big beer to be this easy to drink definitely above average for a 'Triple' IPA.

Kicking back on a gorgeous fall afternoon, and this is the perfect beer for it. Big and bold in all categories, rich and powerful. Tasty, smooth with a kick. Pleasant alcohol burn from start to finish. Re-rated 7/10/17, knocked down a few ticks as I have much more exposure to the style since my first rating. Still a damn good beer.

A 22 fl. oz. bomber, bottled on 23rd July 2018. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.

Appearance: A clear copper colour with a slightly less than two finger white head that had great retention and left lots of nice fluffy sticky lacing.

Aroma: Resinous pine, grass, grapefruit, citrus rind, orange juice, light caramel and a touch of booze.

Taste: Pine, resiny, light caramel sweetness, citrusy, grapefruit rind, orange peel, orange juice, booze, a touch of stone fruit, and a moderately bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Not bad at all, but perhaps a bit too boozy. I would have enjoyed it even more if the booze could have been hidden.

Appearance: Pours clear and amber colored with an impressive two fingers, good persistence and solid lacing action

Smell: Tropical fruit, grapefruit and pine

Taste: Papaya, blueberry and melon forward, with grapefruit pith tones building; piney, with a growing dank bitterness, through the middle and a palate numbing finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: A TIPA from the days when brewers competed to see who could brew the highest IBU IPA, it was fun to visit from a nostalgic perspective as it is a good example of that style of beer

Copper and clear filtered with almost no carbonation. Topped with 3 fingers of off white head.

Smells of pineapple, spicy hops, pine, candy corns, blueberries, green strawberries, and dank skunk cabbage.

Tastes of dank skunk cabbage, pine resin, pineapples and a big, bitterness.

Medium body, slightly syrupy, with little to moderate carbonation.

Got in Sacramento, drinking in Redding, Oct 11th, 2018. Excellent IPA.

Shimmering amber with an uneven bubbly off-white collar.

Smell is Triple Sec, hot pine and sweaty, catty rug all with a nose-numbing tingle.

The palate displays its all too forward boozy potency right off the bat, bringing with it fiery pine, orange liqueur and a pungently hot exhale.

The medium, slick body has a crunchy sort of froth before a chewy, semi-dry finish. It's far too hot.

This one does not quite have the deft execution of other high octane hop cocktails we enjoy locally, like Hop Juju and Creeper, or even the more widely distributed The Waldos.

Great intro to the world of triple (or quad) IPAs, mostly because it's really not too bitter or too boozy. Just the perfect amount of both.
Extremely summary drink for someone who likes his summer with a kick. Lemony, very grapefruity and even a little beautiful tangerine finish. A very drinkable and enjoyable beer.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass. Cloudy golden yellow with very nice head and lacing. Pleasant citrus smell. Very citrusy taste, mostly grapefruit with some lime. The taste was well- balanced and not overly boozey or bitter. Very good tasting IPA!

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a very hazy burnt orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is dank, some herbal notes. Taste is dank, herbal, malts and citrus are present, as well as a bit of alcohol, it's bitter, but not as much as I expected considering the ibu. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

12oz. Bottled 12/15/17, consumed 1/17/18.

Pours clear gold with a small solid head.

Aroma is mainly tropical and citrus fruits, really pleasant.

Taste is smooth, mainly citrus fruit and pine with some tropical notes. Solidly hoppy.

Mouthfeel is medium-full body and dry. Really easy drinking triple IPA for sure.

Overall another tasty, well-crafted Knee Deep brew. I would probably say that I like the taste of Simtra more but Hop-Trio drinks easier. All good either way.
