No Orange Whip when I stopped in, so this is what I got instead.

Strong pine and citrus on the nose of this one. Flavor carries much of the same with a salty edge on there also. This one has some bite. Strong resin character on it too. A sipper more so than anything else.

32 oz growler filled 7/16/13, sampled 7/21/13 into a port glass. Pear juice color with a half finger of white head that reduces to a sticky ring on the edges of the glass with nice lacing.
Deceptive appearance regarding the carbonation as it looks almost flat, but a swirl of the glass brings about some bubbles nicely.

The galaxy hops are in the spotlight, with a crisp and fruity/citrus aroma drawing you into the first sip.Nothing aggressive or overpowering in the nose, and the malt presence is nearly nonexistent. The dry hopping with galaxy really steps up the aroma.

Taste is also crisp and fruity, slightly tangy with a snappy dry finish. A really nice AIPA flavor that highlights the galaxy hop quite well with the citra hop playing second fiddle. A pleasant bitterness remains center palate before fading into a typical yeasty, crackery session ale fashion.

Mouthfeel leans toward the light side, maybe even a tad thin, and seems more typical of a session ale style not uncommon to 5%+- IPAs.

Sampling Dingo on the heels of enjoying Mad Fox's Orange Whip the night before made for
a tough act to follow. Dingo is a hop forward tropical tasting AIPA that is quite tasty, refreshing, and definitely recommended. If not for the relative thinness of the body & overall feel, it would be world class all the way.

From notes, growler shared by Thorpe429 a few weeks ago.

Pours a relatively clear, light golden yellow with a thin white head and moderate lacing. Tropical and juicy aroma dominated by Galaxy and to a lesser extent Citra hops, mild malt. Light body, soft carbonation, and pretty much all hops in the flavor. Weird beer, individually I enjoyed all the parts of this beer but the sum was a little too slight and thin.

Thorpe shared a portion of a growler of this with me and then it disappeared off the face of the earth, leaving me to wonder where did this IPA go. I will definitely try to get more of this if possible in the near future. Served in a tiny ticker snifter for ticking. As is how all beers from growlers should be served.

Beer is yellow / light amber and slightly hazy with a soft white head of small bubbles, some lacing, decent retention, moderate to mild carbonation (could be from the way it was stored).

Aroma is great, fruits, beautiful tropical fruits. I love galaxy hops.

Beer is medium to light in body, very light on malt, very good because of this. Such a great hop bouquet on the palate, strong sweet fruitiness, moderate bitterness on the not too dry finish. I'll have this again in a second.

16 oz. British style pint purchased at the brewery, unknown creation date, drank over 30 most fantastic minutes

A: 3/3 - yellow-orange coloration, impressive clarity (can both read and see through), received with subtle glass lacing, small alcohol legs

S: 9/10 - lots of tropical fruit - pineapple, mango, papaya, but also picking up on pine resiny aroma pouring out of the glass; very little malt on the nose

T: 17/20 - on the front of the tongue, there is a mild tropical hop bitterness that quickly succumbs to pungent pine predominance (surprisingly for Galaxy but I would guess that there are PW dank hops in the mix); on the middle of the mouth, the hops continue to assault, which some minor malt balancing; little detectable alcohol; dry aftertaste --> awesome session IPA here!

M: 4/5 - little think but expected for the low ABV; low carbonation really accentuates the hops; low alcohol notes

O: 9/10 - I came for Orange Whip but got one of huge best session IPAs/aromatic APAs that I have ever tried; absolutely incredible dank hop aroma with high drinkability is rare as a full-figured supermodel; I could drink the fuck out of this, which totally satisfies this hophead; and, for $4.25/pint, this is highly recommended!

OVERALL: 44/50

A: fairly translucent dirty golden, maybe an orange hue in there as well . Larger soapy bubble edge the top of the pour
S: orange-candy maltiness, with some wet carboard background
T/M: this taste reminds me of their Orange Whip. Orange flavors on top of a bitter grapefruit taste. Carbonation is good. The longer taste is a little earthy, with a slightly grassy lingering feel.
O: not like I recalled from the last time I tasted, disappointingly so. As stated, it seems to be a similar recipe to another of their beers. This one is a little lighter in ABV, and does have a slight feel of a session ale.

That all said, it is a decently tasty session IPA, and probably a good "entry-level" IPA. If I were to consider it as such, I would likely go up a rating notch on feel, overall, and maybe taste.

nonic pint at the brewpub

a: served in a nonic pint, this ipa is a clear golden in color, topped with a dense white head that shows quality retention and some lace

s: superb tropical hop nose of sweet grapefruit, orange, passionfruit, and mango; juicy and vivid, really dig the use of pilsner and pale malts here - it’s very clean and allows the hops to come through full force

m: body a lighter medium, carbonated to a low-moderate level of small, smooth bubbles

t: crisp, clean pils malt and slightly sweet, bready pale sets a clean, easily drinkable structure for the same tropical fruit flavors found on the nose, still juicy and fresh, spicy mango and passionfruit really stand out with a lingering bitter grapefruit rind finish, great

o: really enjoyed this one, the hops are awesome, and great use of pale and pils to create a clean, fantastically drinkable base - cleanly malted ipas almost always sit well with me

scores 7/12/13: 4/4/4/4/4 Very pleasant, tropical and citrus galaxy character, fresh and vivid, but the malts just aren’t in position to lift this one to the next level. They do provide adequate support, but nothing more, coming across a little bland. Still, very nice ipa.

taking the middle road of differing scores for my entry

On tap at Mad Fox last night. Served in a nonic pint glass.

Pours a very clear light golden color with a good white head and a nice bit of lacing on the way down. The nose has a really nice blend of Citra and Galaxy, focusing more on the latter. The Columbus don't come through quite as much, and may have just been bittering. Nice bit of tropical fruits combined with some nice citrus. Nothing overpowering, but quite pleasant. The flavor is about the same. Nothing really in the malt department, just a nice bit of hop flavor. Body is light and very crisp with a smooth bitterness through the finish. Quite good.
