From tap to nonic pint glass at Mad Fox on 3/27/12
A: Filtered warm golden. No real head to speak of dissapoints, and nary a speck of lacing or a semblance of a collar.
S: Fairly decent. Some mild fruitiness, not much more.
T: It's bitter up front, with a touch of juice on the mid. The back dries out with a wave of earth-like malt. Comes off more like an APA, not an American IPA.
M: A bit watery for my liking. Just too thin and not nearly as expressive as it should be.
O: I don't know about Mad Fox's Tinner Hill. Maybe if they had left it unfiltered it would add some complexity to it. As it is, it's just another IPA, and not one I'd rush out to have again. Certainly the weakest link in Mad Fox's solid hoppy/IPA portfolio.

On tap at Mad Fox. Served in a nonic pint.
Pours a very clear light peach color with a nice white head. Pretty decent retention and some spotty lacing on the way down.
The initial aroma is of light tropical fruits with a bit of citrus in there as well. It's almost like a mellow Cascade combined with a touch of Southern Hemisphere tropical notes. Some light pilsner behind that, though not to the point of being bready.
The taste is similar. There's a light bitter dryness throughout to accompany mild hop flavor. Pretty mellow, but easy drinking. Te body is light and semi-dry without any noticeable alcohol. There is a hint of something almost cidery to the finish. I don't think that's a defect in the brewing, but perhaps something from the hops. I have experienced something similar in lighter beers that have been dry hopped, especially with Cascade. While this is a new, experimental hop, maybe it shares something similar, at least to my palate.
Overall a well-made brew that was enjoyable, but just don't take it to the next level for me. I would be curious to try other beers with this hop.

Beer on draft at Mad Fox, beer is yellow and clear with a soft white small head of white bubbles, some lacing, moderate carbonation, looks good.
Aroma is fruity, tropical, nice, I love the aroma of this beer.
Beer is medium to light in body, sweet up front, mild to moderate bitterness a little grainy on the end, a little sweet, not dry, there is this late sweetness that is interesting but doesn't quite mesh. Ultimately a nice IPA, I liked it and would have it again.

Poured from growler acquired same day.
A - Pours a golden copper color with lots of bubbles and a nice head that slowly dissipates to a thin layer. Nice lacing on the glass.
S - Fresh citric hops along with some pine resin. A little bit of malty backbone comes through as well, but is relatively light compared to the hops. Not particularly strong.
T - Very nice fresh flavor. Well blended mix of citrus (I'm picking grapefruit and tropical notes) and piney resin hops. Some bready malt background. This tastes super fresh and is delightful.
M - Nice hoppy finish, a little dry, a bit bready and biscuity. Pretty drinkable.
O - A very enjoyable IPA that I had the great fortune of having superfresh. The hop flavors shine through; I'd recommend if you're looking for a great basic IPA.

Half pint on tap at the brewpub.
Pours a clearish golden copper with a bubbly cream colored head that fades quickly to a very thin collar and zero lace. Aroma is very mild, some pine hops, citrus resin, caramel malt and light toasted grain. Medium thick full body, nice active carbonation with a dry, resiny finish. Strong grain malt presence throughout body with a brief flourish of sweet citrus hops mid body before finish with a floral and earthy bitterness. A well made IPA but not a standout like Dingo, Orange Whip, or Two Hemisphere. Blahhh.
