A: Pours a hazy golden amber in color with some orange highlights and moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a three finger tall foamy light beige head that slowly reduces to thick medium sized cap in the center with a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Overall the aroma of this beer is pretty yeasty - moderate aromas of peppery spices and some grassy barnyard funk. There is also a lighter aroma of some tart fruits including apple, apricot, and lemon/citrus.

T: Light amounts of grassy barnyard funk/hay with some light amounts of grainy malt and peppery/spicy yeast. Light to moderate flavors of tart fruits - apple, apricot, and lemon/citrus.

M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Slight amounts of acidic prickliness. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: This is a very interesting and tasty brew - one I definitely would have again. I enjoy the light funkiness and I found this one pretty easy to drink.

750ml bottle into Hill Farmstead stemware. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a 1.5 finger frothy white head with great retention. Beer is a clear black tea color. Lacing is thick, web-like and layered with excellent stick. A really good looking beer.

Nose is slightly tart and spritzy. Notes of Brett, sour lemon and apple. Some mild yeastiness and peppery and spicy. Very nice.

Opens yeasty, sour apple, lemon tartness. Clove, peppercorn, and floral in the middle. Ends foamy with some wood and mossy notes. Finishes tart and crisp with a lemon zest and peel aftertaste. Delicious!

Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and light in the mouth and goes down dry but fluffy. Accented finish with a dry, sticky aftertaste. Super drinkable.

Hard for me to believe the low ratings on this beer. Just because it doesn't have the Hill Farmstead name doesn't mean it doesn't carry the Hill Farmstead pedigree. An excellent saison all the way around.

750ml bottle, split

Hair of the dog tulip - cloudy orange-amber with a nice sticky lace. A little funk, pepper, crackery malt, a bit yeasty, notes of apple and pear. Just OK - not really up to the standards set by other Hill Farmstead offerings. Cool logo, though

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Reviewed from notes.

Appearance - Big head. Great retention. Chunky surface foam. Mostly clear amber body.

Smell - Bretty. Lemony acidity. Earthy notes from the brett. Bready malts.

Taste - Bready malts and some tang from the brett. Lemony. Grainy malt and a little caramel.

Mouthfeel - Well carbonated. Easy drinking. Medium light body.

Overall - Good saison characteristics, but nothing extraordinary. The light tanginess keeps it interesting.

Hazy rusty orange with a tall white head, leaving a thin layer of carbonation after it dissipates.

The smell is funky yeast, pumpkin spice, and a slight metallic smell.

The taste is tart, pumpkin spice (I keep picking this up and was not expecting it,) lemon, and yeasty.

Mouthfeel is heavily carbonated, dry, and tart.

I've only had a couple but really dig the saisons that come out of HF.
