Had this beer at a fantastic gastro pub in Cambridge MA. Don't want to mention the name because I don't think they are technically supposed to sell it.
Ap: Orange/redish color. Nice big head that lingers.
Ar: Lots of citrus mixed in with that classic Saison peppery yeast smell.
T: Fantastic! Light and crisp citrus flavor, with peppery notes, a little bit of hop bitterness and more tartness than I was expecting. Lots of floral notes mixed throughout.
M: effervesent - monderate to high carbonation. very crisp.
O: a fantastic Saison. Has much of that traditional saison quality, with a bit of new influence mixed in. Extremely refreshing, crisp beer. Would absolutely drink this over and over again.

750ml bottle, dated 10 2013, poured into an etched Hill Farmstead Festival Stemmed Glass.
The beer pours a super hazy, golden straw color, a few noticeable bubbles rising to the top of glass with a thick, taut white head that has very nice retention and leaves a beautiful wall of soapy lace behind. The aroma is really lovely, bright citrus and wildflower with nice funkiness, slightly earthy with a citric tartness, soft pale grain with a bit of berry fruit and honey sweetness at the back end. The flavors are wonderful, distinct yet balanced funk, tangy citrus, the lime really shines while the blood orange helps the tartness of the beer develop gracefully. The finish has a bit of fruit but is lightly bready and rustic, very pleasant and helps to reign in the tang and tart that initially hits the tongue. The mouthfeel is perfect, creamy, soft but still lively and perky that coats the mouth exceedingly well and finishes with a great tart kick.
Verdict: A delight from Grassroots (Hill Farmstead & Luc), the tart quality of the beer is so well executed and the lime flavors are quite enjoyable while layering over the traditional saison/farmhouse flavors. The beer is bright, delicate and very refreshing, exactly what I am looking for in a beer of this style.
