Growler shared by Lunch. Thanks Paul!
The beer is hazy and yellow with an inch or more of pure white head. The aroma brings fresh hops, lemons, oranges. Lots of citrus in the flavor. Cracker, malt, biscuit character as well, with some lingering toasted bread in the finish. A tad tart, with a hoppy lemon bitterness. A solid beer and easy to drink, albeit less refined and amazing than my favorite Hill Farmstead IPAs.

Growler poured at Hill Farmstead on December 7th. "Consume by December 14th" they say, gladly. I still don't quite understand the Grassroots/Hill Farmstead relationship completely but the quality of what I have tried is great.
A- A yeasty, hazy brew pours from the 750ml flip-top growler to a pint glass and a snifter. The beer in both glasses forms a one finger, creamy white cap. Foam retains decently atop the beer and eventually falls to a frothy ring at the edges and some cloudy islands in the middle. Lacing webs start at the top and cascade down the glass in random fashion.
S- Blast of citrus hops off the top and I can smell it while pouring. Hops hardly let any yeast and malts through but hints of both are here. Bouquet of orange and lemon citrus zest, grapefruit, mangoes and some floral notes.
T- Loads of hop flavor erupt on the palate as the nose would suggest but they don't drain your taste buds or overpower, each sip carries a flavor as good as the last. Some pine and more floral comes into play but the hops are once again mostly citrus with a fairly big portion of tropical fruit nectar interacting with that. Grapefruit, orange, lemon oil, mango, peach and cantaloupe all come to mind.
MF- Creamy overall texture in a light to moderately thick body. Carbonation feels like it was poured from a tap with a medium level of bubbles and silky smooth crispness. Finishes bitter but pleasantly.
Another legitimately good (heh) IPA from up North or wherever Grassroots comes from... I like the emphasis on citrus hops and how the beer doesn't destroy the palate but delivers just enough hop flavors to satisfy.
