Bottle poured into a nonic pint.

A - Pours a crystal clear golden amber with a foamy white 2 finger head that fades to a thin sheet within a few minutes. Some weak lacing sticks around until the head dies down.

S - Not much in the way of aroma, in fact it's nearly undetectable. Some light biscuity malts and a cooked corn aroma is all that comes through.

T - Basic sweet caramel maltiness with a lager-y adjunct flavor on the back end; no real hop or honey flavor. The taste is balanced fairly heavily on the malty side and the bitterness just barely registers.

M - Soft, medium-low carbonation. Medium-light body. Decent mouthfeel but a stronger carbonation would be nice and probably would help improve some other aspects of this beer.

O - For an amber ale, I'd say the only place this beer really shines is with it's looks. Perfect embodiment of that amber color, but the flavors just aren't cutting it enough to make this beer enjoyable.

12oz bottle. One more in an unnecessarily long line of seemingly duplicated brews from Genesee Brewing Company, brought to we in Alberta in the most obfuscated manner by the Liquor Depot monopoly chain of mostly underwhelming booze emporia.

This beer pours a clear, medium golden amber colour, with two fingers of foamy, mildly bubbly dirty white head, which leaves a few thin streaks of bridge-like lace around the glass as it quickly bleeds into the ether.

It smells of musty caramel malt, semi-sweet orchard fruit, a bit of overripe black berries, and some mildly funky earthy, leafy hops. The taste is grainy caramel malt, a touch of sour breadiness, bland earthy fruitiness - peaches and apples, mostly - and dead-eyed (anthropomorphized, apparently) leafy hops.

The carbonation is quite neutered, and barely noticeable, the body a so-so medium weight, and too pithy and cloying to be deemed all that smooth. It finishes on the sweet side, the grainy caramel malt still buoyed by a stale fruitiness, as the hops seem to be truly absent by this point, replaced by a small, finally evolved plastic twinge.

I'm not getting that unpleasant from the get-go impression that its colleagues seem to engender, so colour me surprised, I suppose, but its overall essence still gives me the minor willies, only if there's really nothing else on offer to make me change my mind.

Sampled from a 12 oz. bottle on August 7, 2012.

It pours a medium amber with a lot of carbonation but very little head emerging from those bubbles.

The aroma tends to be grainy, buttery, and maybe even including a little light honey. Hops are faint.

The body is thin and just a little better than watered down.

The taste also has a grainy character but the honey seems a tad more noticeable in the flavor. Hops are simmering around in the background.

It looked good but this was a weak amber ale in the long run.

I found this at a Save Mart in Carson City.

Appearance- coppery, reddish color, thin head

Smell-sweet malt

Taste- malt, That's all I could taste.

Mouthfeel- light to medium bodied

Drinkability- It was ok. I would probably drink it again but I probably won't.

Pours a medium copper color with a thin head that dissipated quickly. Very little lacing. A third of the way through the glass, there was absolutely no head residue or lacing.

Aroma was malt with some other note in the background that I couldn't quite make out since it faded quickly. Maybe bread?

Taste is malty with a mildly sweet unbalanced finish. Not much in the way of hop profile. Reminds me of an Oktoberfest. Mouthfeel is medium with decent carbonation.

I've had good Ambers, like Troegs Hopback, but this isn't one of them. Fortunately, this was given to me so I'm not out any money on it. I honestly wouldn't buy one and, if offered one, I'd ask if I had another choice. If you're not big into hops you might like it. Better than an American Adjunct Lager (aka BMC) is the best I can say about this beer.

Poured from a bottle into a tumbler pint, the beer is a thin, light, bright, caramel coloring with a thin, sparse, filmy coating on the surface. Aromas of floral, esthers, and a slight sugary sweetness. Not overly inviting. Flavors of sugary sweetness, slight toasting, and a tangy characteristic. Jumbled, watered down mess. Sweet and watery aftertaste, with a weak, slick finish. Not good.

Roscoe's Hop House Amber Ale from Rochester, NY.

This beer had an extremely sweet finish with a taste of honey, not much carbonation. Sweet amber ale. Not a big fan of the taste.

I drank it out of a bottle from Food City in Knoxville, TN on 12/17/2012 from a create your own 6-pack.

No.

Into a pint glass:

A: very clear yet hazy copper/brown colored body, a one finger white fizzy head appears for about a half minute before it dies. Initially, there is a ton of carbonation rising rapidly to the top. It eventually slows down. Some light spotty lacing speckles the glass.

S: some corn, and caramel and backed up back some malts. There isn't much else of anything.

T: basically the same.

M: very thin and crisp and also pretty harsh on the tongue.

O: this isn't a spectacular beer, but it is not a bad beer. I'll probably end up finishing off the six pack, pouring it into some brats to soak or maybe even hand off a couple to my friends to see what they think.

Pours a light amber in color, crystal clear, with a white foamy head, that showed some sticky side glass lace, and decent but not great retention.
Aroma; Not much here. Cold metal and earth, and a scent of sweet honey.
Taste: a little bit of roasted malts, and bread. Sweet up front from the honey. Mild citrus hops are faint.

Decent thirst quencher.

Bottle poured into a pint glass

A: Pours out a darker yellow, with a full head.

S: Its aroma is a light, sweet honey, wisp of malt

T-M: The taste is very mild, refreshing; medium carbonation, a light sweetness, some very soft malts and finishes exceptionally well.No bitter after taste.

This is a very good Amber. I have offered this amber to friends who don't typically drink amber ales. All of them have enjoyed the great taste and soft finish provided by this amber ale.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.

A - Clear, sickly, light copper color. Moderate amount of white colored head. Average retention.

S - Pale malt aroma. Mild breadiness.

T - Weakly caramel malt flavor accompanied by some unpleasant light tanginess that lingers in your mouth. Unlike the description, I tasted no "hint of hops".

M - Average carbonation. Light to medium bodied. Way too watery.

D - It is drinkable in the same way that bud light is drinkable: it tastes like a mildly flavored water. I would avoid drinking this beer unless the other option is a light beer.
