A 355ml bottle with a BB of March 2015. Purchased a while back from a supermarket.

A: Poured into a cervoise. A deep, hazy orange-amber hue with plenty of floating sediment and light carbonation. Yields a decent head of frothy white foam that lasts for a minute or two before collapsing. Some lacing.

S: Aroma of caramel malt with hints of stewed leaves, mild grain, earthy yeast and faint cardboard. Slightly sweet. Fails to stimulate the senses.

T: Tastes of caramel malt with a lightly hoppy character and a subtle bitter finish. Notes of sweet malt, stewed leaves, mild pine, a touch of grain, earthy yeast and cardboard. A subdued, mildly spicy bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with pleasant carbonation and decent body. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of harsh stewed leaves/cardboard, caramel malt and faint hop notes.

O: Meh - not brilliant. Perhaps it would have been better if the bottle were fresher. Looks OK, however the aroma and flavour are dull and uninspired with relatively little hop character to justify the name. Average body. Not a particularly memorable brew - no need to seek it out.

12 oz bottle.
Deep amber with a very good head and exceptional lacing.

Herbal/floral aroma with a clear malt base.

High malt/hop ratio for style; drinks like a malty pale ale. Herbal and citrus notes.

O: Decent, just don’t expect a hoppy IPA.

12oz bottle. Yet another freakin' duplicate offering from this pathetic marketing agency trying to pawn off Americana brewing history in an effort to confuse a new market over their lame-ass business practices. Oh? Prove me wrong, then.

This beer pours a hazy medium golden amber colour, with one finger of somewhat foamy, puffy, dirty white head, which leaves a low vista of rainforest lace around the glass as it steadily bleeds away.

It smells of sweet, sugary malt, not really caramel, more of a stale, sour bready sort, some watery pine and thin citrus juice notes, and a stoney, flinty character that appears where I might have been expecting some bitterness. Oh well. The taste is more indistinct, plain, and neutered generic hops, echoes of citrus, pine, and herbs wailing as from the underworld, some equally pithy bready, wet crackery malt, with a growing metallic sheen.

The carbonation is pretty sedate, the body medium-light in weight, with a growing cloyingness, and sneaky, picky sourness that precludes any delusions of actual smoothness. It finishes off-dry, the mildly sour grain doing none of us any real favour in its longevity, as the hops and alcohol don't seem able to pull up the collective socks of this offering.

Trick me once, shame on you, trick me twice, shame on me. After barely getting through the majority of this bottle, I assure you, I won't be making that mistake again. Not an IPA, especially one of the oft-maligned American variety. Avoid with a now more than moderate prejudice.

A - Slightly hazy amber color with a pillow off-white head, not much lacing, lots of bubbles.

S - Citrus hops and some pine, some malt too.

T - Malt and hops on the flavor, not great but not bad either. Finish has some malt toastiness and some hop bitterness.

M - Medium carbonation, light to medium body, quite drinkable.

O - It's okay the hop flavor is there but just doesn't taste all that good. Much better IPA offerings

Appearance: pours a hazy orange color with some yellow highlights. A one finger head disappears quickly to a few surface bubbles.

Smell: caramel, rotten apples, and a pungent hop bitterness makes for an unpleasant aroma.

Taste: caramel, fruit sweetness, and a biting bitterness creates somewhat of an unbalanced and non-refreshing IPA. A bit of a metallic taste arrives at the finish.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Crisp to start, less crisp and a bit dry at the finish.

Overall: I had a hard time finishing this one as the aroma was very poor. The flavors just don't meld here at all.

These beers are offered directly from ABC Fine Wine and Spirits in Florida.

Appearance: fluid golden orange with a fine white head.

Smell: pine resin and citrus notes, nice hoppiness.

Taste: low bitterness but nice hop essence with pine, citrus, and grapefruit qualitites.

A good starter IPA for someone who wants to ease into hop bitterness and not get a one-two punch to the mouth by a lot of those extreme American IPAs

Great head and very nice lacing. Beautiful Amber color. Malty and hoppy but not overwhelming. A decent beer. Bought a sixer for 5.99. Normally 8.99. Wouldn't spend 8.99 on it but for what i spent, definitely a good deal.
