A: Very dark brown to almost black. Nice low-medium lacing and fingers around glass
S: Allergies were kicking in but what stood out the most to me was esthers. I didn't get a good nose of roasted barley or malt.
T: Drank more like a porter than an oatmeal stout. As a porter it would be really good. But lacks characteristics of either.
M: Good carbonation and not too thin in the mouth.
O: Not a bad beer overall. Worth the trip to Parker to have.

Enjoyed on-draft at the brewery:
this beer is dark; there is no head, almost no lacing; coffee and cocoa on the nose; strong oatmeal flavor; a touch of sweet that almost goes unnoticed; a little bitter on the back end; I'm curious about any hops used; hardy beer perfect for winter; I'm almost instantly full; overall a great stout flavor with an abv wallop you can't even taste. Good oatmeal stout offering.

Tap into glass at their brewpub.
A: Dark black with a thin head.
Sm: Light lacing of coffee. Very light, so much so that my broken nose cannot discern more notes.
T: My first thought is "where are the oats?" Coffee, hints of toffee, hints of caramel. Crisp, lingering finish.
Mf: A bit too smooth, except from the climax on. It gets better as it goes along.
Dr: This is the inbred bastard cousin of their seasonal porter, which is a much better beer. This beer does hide its abv well. Take the oatmeal stout epithet with a grain of hops. Stout fans like me would do better do order their seasonal porter when it's available.
