Notes/Commercial Description:
This single hop ale showcases the Citra hop. Named for the largest T-rex fossil ever discovered, she roars with ferocious aromas of grapefruit, citrus, mango and evergreen. Delicate in body with a mild bite in the finish.

650ml bottle poured into a stemless wine glass, generously shared by cfrances33.

The beer pours a soft honey color, hues of gold, orange and copper, slightly hazy with a nice finger of soft white head that has very good retention and leaves nice striations of soapy lace behind. The aroma is wonderful, lots of bright grapefruit and tangerine, lemongrass, pineapple and passionfruit with great wildflower character with some sweet pale malt. Lots of crisp grapefruit, lightly sweet tangerine, bitter lemongrass and light pine with wildflower behind it. Doughy pale malt that is somewhat sweet is dominant at the finish, but is so well integrated with the other flavors, it's a very natural transition. The body is great, moderate to low carbonation, very juicy that finishes lightly dry and very smoothly with a creamy touch.

Verdict: A tremendous APA from Toppling Goliath, the flavors are balanced so well, the bitterness is kept in check and really lets the beer shine. This really is one of the premier Citra hopped beers out there and any and all comparisons to Zombie Dust are well warranted.

22 oz. bottle:

Pours clouded golden with a thin head. Strands of lacing stick

The smell is of a robust hop explosion. The powerful aroma came through upon opening the bottle. It has a wonderful citric aroma - grapefruit, orange and mango.

The taste is of bitter citric and tropical fruits. A subtle malt backing has a cracker-like character. It balances the hops while showcasing the citra hops. A touch of pepper mixes in in the long finish.

The body is appropriate for a pale ale that is on the fuller side of the spectrum. Overall, it is smooth despite a bite to it.

A great show of citra hops. A hoppy pale ale, for sure. Not harsh though there is a bit of a bite. A very enjoyable APA.
