Had on draft at Red's Alehouse. I did not take notes on this beer so forgive me for the less-than-descriptive review. But I feel I have to rate it because I liked it so much.
Pours a glowing golden color with minimal head. Aroma is juicy hoppiness, blah blah blah. We all know that good IPA's are the best smelling beers in the world.
The taste is absolutely phenomenal. Literally the best IPA I have ever had. I am not a hop head, IPA's barely make my top 10 styles but if they all tasted like this they would. I have very specific tastes in the style (low bitterness, big hop juiciness, sweet malt backbone) and this hits them all. Not since Hill Farmstead Ephraim have I tasted an IPA that was so incredibly juicy and hop centric yet low on bitterness. Of course, this is not a monster triple IPA like that one was, which actually makes it superior in my opinion since it is a bit easier to stomach with its lower ABV and "lighter" flavor.
The body is slightly undercarbed but still fine.
Nelson-based IPA's tend to be right up my alley and this was no exception. Just so clean and citrus-y. Great job Toppling Goliath.
