On tap at the Root Note in La Crosse.

A - Rich cider color. Very little head or lacing, but I've poured Toppling Goliath IPAs from a pitcher with beautiful 2-finger head, so I think the bartender could have built it more.

S - Citrus and pine with earthy undertones.

T - Bold grapefruit and a little bit of alfalfa. The bitterness lingers on the roof of your mouth on the finish. A bit sweet for an IPA.

M - Medium weight, but crisp and easy to drink. Medium carbonation.

O - Toppling Goliath has a strong grip on their IPAs, and 1492 is no exception. I've been following them as new taps are added in La Crosse and I'm excited to plan a trip to visit them soon!

A - Bright golden orange color with an average sized, tight, creamy, smooth, white head. Average retention with a decent lacing left over.

S - What I tend to expect from a Toppling Goliath single hopped IPA. A slight bready malt backbone with the hops jumping out of the glass. Strong citrus hops with a faint spiced herbal/floral aroma.

T - Similar to the nose. A nice malt backbone that allows the hops to shine. Citrus and a spiced herbal/floral hop flavor. A surprising bitterness toward the finish.

M - Medium body with slightly below average carbonation. Has more of a slick/oily feel.

D - I had no problem polishing off my glass. Nice balance with nothing being too strong. A touch on the bitter side but nothing too intense.

Notes: Similar to other TG single hop IPAs with a nice malty backbone that allows the hops to shine. Nothing spectacular or anything jumping out that will really make you crave this, but a well crafted, easy to drink IPA. A little more bitter than I expected but nothing too intense. Another nice IPA by Toppling Goliath.

A-pours a cloudy apricot color with a small fresh white head small amount of lacing i like the look of this brew
S-dank herbal smells with citrus some bready malts
T-dank herbs and dank hops a mixture of more citrus hops a touch of onion, veg herb on the back end
M-medium carbonation with hop resins and prickly bitterness on the finish
O-another solid single hop IPA from TG this one has a nice brooding dankness about with just the right amount of malt and bitterness

Pours hazed golden. A thin head stays and leaves lacing.

The smell is of grapefruit with a hint of pine/resin.

The taste is of bitter grapefruit with some pine. A biscuity sweetness rounds it out. Just a touch of warming alcohol comes through. It has a refreshingly dry, long finish.

There is a bit of astringency at the start, but it soon mellows to a smooth texture. I almost lowered the feel slightly, but the carbonation level and the appropriate fullness more than make up for the slight astringency of the first few sips.

This is a pleasant hoppy brew. It showcases the Columbus hops well, with just enough malt to keep it all together. Another well-done hop-forward beer from Toppling Goliath!
