A - Dark orange-red color. Medium sized, creamy, smooth, frothy, slightly off-white head. Average retention leaving a small amount of lacing.

S - Toffee and caramel aplenty as you would expect. Some sweet bread and hints of light brown sugar. Slightly roasted malt aroma. A touch of earthy and floral hops.

T - Pretty sweet with loads of toffee and a good amount of caramel. Touches of nutty and earthiness with a roasted malt finish. Brown sugar and some dark fruit aspects. Sweet, toasted bready malt. Sweet but not cloying.

M - Medium body with average carbonation. Pretty smooth and creamy. Slightly dry finish.

D - Pretty easy to drink and while it is sweet, it is far from cloying. Tasty and easy to put down. Plenty of malt but it has a nice hoppy touch.

Notes: Nice Irish Red. Not my favorite from TG (can't match their IPAs or Stouts) but it is a nice change, and for a smaller brewery it is good for a deviation from their niche. Plenty of malt and a nice sweetness but not cloying. Overall it is nice but not something I'll crave.

On-tap at Three Cellars, Franklin, WI:

Pours hazed reddish-copper with a wispy head. Trailing lace sticks.

The smell is of caramel in the "red" style with light toast.

The taste is of caramel - sweet - balanced by mild earthy notes and light roast.

It is smooth. Very easy to drink.

A nice easy-drinking, true-to-style, malt-forward, but balanced, Irish Red.

16 oz. pint poured at the brewery, unknown brewing/kegging date, drank over 30 minutes

A: 2/3 - amber-red coloration, moderate clarity, initial frothy off-white head settles into a glass lacing with carbonation lakes, tight pinkish bubbles pouring off the bottom of the glass

S: 9/12 - rich caramel and reddish malt aroma, little hops, some alcohol in the background, no diacetyl, no DMS

T: 14/20 - on the front if the palate, there is a gentle bitterness; in the middle of the palate, the malt profile - caramel, toffee and butterscotch; on the back end, there is a continued malt presence, finishes semi-sweet but not cloying

M: 4/5 - moderate body, silky/smooth, moderate carbonation

O: 8/10 - very good-to-excellent Irish red ale, a style that I don't typically drink - silky mouthfeel and rich malt profile; again, highly recommended for the $4.50/pint price

TOTAL - 37/50

Pours from a growler, amber red with a thick creamy tawny head. Looks good. Smells earthy and malty, light grain. Very nice mild and inviting. Taste is smooth lightly grainy, lightly bitter. Caramel and biscuits. Very lightly pine. Mouth feel is creamy body is medium light holds together well. This one is mild across the board but with good craft roots clearly visible. Easy drinker but not spectacular.
