Bottle thanks to my awesome girlfriend... Thanks to mes for showing her around too.
Love me some Kernel.
picked up at the brewery saturday.

nose is a ton of grapefruit, lemon, with a hint of pine overtones.

nice and cloudy burnt orange color with about an inch of head.

Taste is quite nice, with the grapefruit, lemon, and the pine being more in play on the palate than the nose. Taste is actually better than the nose as well. Pine is more dominant, but damn good. oily and slick hops, with none of the 9.8% to be tasted anywhere. Quite nicely balanced malts as well, I didnt expect to taste much malt on this one, but can. A slight wheaty characteristic on the finish. I wish i had more than this one bottle!!
mouthfeel is quite nice as well, not overly thick, not too thin, nice carbonation as well.

330ml bottle purchased from the Beer Boutique in East Putney, London.
Four pounds per bottle. Bottled on April 2. Labeled Best Before August 2.
Bottle also printed with statement that this is a bottle conditioned beer and should be stored upright and poured gently, if you prefer to leave the yeast sediment inside the bottle.

Slightly hazy yellow/gold elixir, thin white head, plenty of lacing.

Huge Citra notes: mangoes, oranges, kiwi.

Leaving the yeast behind, this is one smooth, tropical refresher with a hint of alcohol at the back end.

Medium body, well carbonated.

UK breweries are taking notice if the US IPAs and this one stands with the best we have in the States. Well done.

12oz bottle into a Duvel tulip.

A: Cloudy red-orange body under a solid finger of fine, creamy tan foam. Solid retention and lace. Nice.

S: Incredible - intense lemon, orange, mango, grapefruit, and tangering. Pure fruity hop goodness.

T: Big, rich, and hoppy-sweet. All the tropical and citrusy fruit from the nose, plus some pine, some malt, and a bit of spicy alcohol. Huge, bitter, hoppy, boozy finish. Gigantic and delicious.

M: Lively, creamy, frothy medium-full body. A bit too bubbly, but still good.

O: What a beer! The Kernel can deliver the hops as well as any American brewery I know of, and this beer is the most extreme proof out there. I wish I could get this, Kern River Citra DIPA, and Hill Farmstead Double Citra all side-by-side...
