Bottled on 14/08/2014, two and a half months ago. Only 3.1%. Brewed with Amarillo & Citra.
A: Orangey straw body with a small whitish head.
S: Tropical fruit.
T: Dry but plenty of tropical fruit. It's bitter and has a salty Alka-Seltzer feel. Also has an off flavour like that creamy flavour you get from rotting onions. Better with the yeast dumped in. Gets much earthier. Chugging the dregs it turns into grapefruit juice.
M: Soft mouthfeel. Not overly fizzy.
O: Like Alka-Seltzer mixed with a bit of tropical squash. Not the best offering from Kernel.

This is delicious for a 3.2% beer. The smell is full of citra goodness, and the taste does not disappoint either. It is smooth and balanced, yet the hop is the star in this one.

330ml bottle conditioned. 3.1% ABV. Citra hops.
L: Hazy, golden colour with many streams of bubbles. Two fingers of creamy, long-lasting head.
S: Light but clean, fresh & fruity.
T: Luscious tropical fruit and dusty yeast flavours. Bitterness is low.
F: Light body but super smooth mouthfeel and a dry finish. No waterlines at all.
O: A clean, flavourful, fresh-tasting, ultra sessionable APA. Extra points for being so easy-drinking and for having a very acceptable mouthfeel for such a low ABV.

Have had many versions of this beer - the hops change frequently - the most recent was Simcoe & Citra. Always excellent. Easily the best low ABV American-style pale ale available in the UK. Outstanding.
US brewers, please take note: this is what a session ale should be like, not the acrid, overly dry-hopped, watery brews that you like to brand as “Session IPA”.

i loved this in the morning hours on a hangover, one of their more popular beers it seems, and i see why. listed as a pale ale here, which is fair, but there is also a yeast component to this that i really like in such a light beer context, its not one dimensional at all because of that, and this was just a real treat to drink on to get going, i wish i could get this in the states on the regular! there is a light little saison sort of funk to it which i really like with the citrus forward hops, and it drinks a little more complex that way. im surprised it has some body, wheaty and with some protein seemingly building it up, you would never guess this is as low alcohol as it is, because its not all that basic. the light rustic character with the malt and the yeast together is nice with the hops, not all dry hoppy either but with some actual snappy bitterness at the end, albeit all quite mild. notes of lemongrass and juniper to it, but uniquely delicate and balance. effervescent bubbles and bone dry to the max. there is literally no limit to how much of this i can and want to drink, a perfect all day beer, and a good one to start with if they ever decide to do some canning! this is one of the more flavorful and refined crushers in the game, awesome job on it! some variability from batch to batch in terms of hops i guess, but it was perfect when i tried it.

Pours unclear, light yellow. A bit of fine, white foam.
Smell is tropical, lots of pineapple and mango.
The taste follows suit, with heaps of tropical fruit, and finishes with a slight, soft hop bitterness. Incredible amount of flavor for only 3.2 %.
The body is a little bit too thin, but the carbonation is spot on.
Really good, really sessionable pale ale. Lots of flavor, my only problem is that the body is a bit light.
