Decent sour-ish beer. Literally fell asleep drinking it

Sampled at Moeder Lambic based on the recommendation of a friend. This is a very interesting, complex and unique beer. I think that really shows in the variation of the scores.

deep red color with little transparency. Nice funk in the nose with slight hints of the oak barrels. tartness is nicely balanced. just a wee bit to carbonated for my liking, but not holding that against it. Crisper than i thought it would be.

Pours copper with a large fading head. Nose shows a mild funky barnyard note, bubble gum, rose and soft oak. Flavours include funk Brett, rose notes, light sweet malt, red berries and oak. A little cloying. Could benefit immensely if this was sour!

It's a slightly hazy brew of red, 1" of foam, laces like a champ.

The nose is a big mix of tart cherries and Brett. I can't decide which is stronger.

Tart cherries, funky flavour, just as I expected. The label says strawberries, raspberries, and red currants...umm...okay. Not cherries, my mistake. I do get them there fruity flavours *after* reading that. And you know what? I dig them. Astringency? Holy feck yes.

Light body, zesty level of carbonation, good mouthfeel and the brew got cloudy with the last few ounces added to the glass.

This is very good, but again, as with most Italian craft beers, the price is out of whack for the size of the bottles.

this recent haul of loverbeer has been awesome, i wish they gave a little more information on the packaging, such as which grape varietals are in this beer? a red variety or two no doubt, but thats all we know, and we only learn that from the pink cloudy hue of this beer. a nose a little perfume heavy like the plum one, but with a lot more of the wild yeast evident right up front. not fruity at all really, maybe just delicate fruit character, but grape is not readily apparent. musty yeast, very wild, similar but lighter than the other beers I've had from these guys. the grapes are a little winey in the taste, and its all on the front end, while the weird yeast is all towards the finish. it never gets sour, not even tart really, but its farmy and animalistic and seemingly ancient. i really like that its a little peppery, a little fruity, and just so different. a cool way to finish an already unique beer. carbonation is really prominent, and the bubbles are enormous, giving it a real lively feel. still creamy in texture though, never feels like soda or anything. dynamic layering of old world flavors in a beautifully executed beer. my only real issue with it is its price. can't afford to drink beer like this real often, but wow is this one a treat!
