Brewed in 2011 with a best by date of 2016.

Not much head. Small amount of off white head bubbles produced from a vigorous pour. They dissipate quickly but stick around the edge of the glass for a bit. Looks like a hazy iced tea/dark orange.

Oh my the smell...as soon as I cracked this a sweet plum smell erupted getting me excited about this. There is a sweet sugariness along with some grape. Reminds me of must.

The flavor took me by surprise. There is plum but also grape, iced black tea, a light acidic character, slight oak, some berry and cherry as well.

Very easy drinking light to medium body with very light carbonation.

Another winner as I delve into Italian brews.

Appearance -Very nice murky golden orange, essentially zero head.

Smell - Funky fermenting fruit, acid, minimal booze

Taste - very tasty hint of plums unfortunately a bit overshadowed by the brett. I like brett but the strength of this beer I think is in the fruit so it would have been nice if this came out a bit more more. A bit more boozy flavor than many sours at 6.2%.

Mouthfeel - Appropriate level of carbonation, thinner mouthfeel typical of sours.

Overall - I love sours so I always love to find a new and unique one. Will buy again.

Thanks, Jason. Hazy grapefruit color in the glass, low carbonation topped by a thin fleeting head. Very fruity, plummy nose; plenty both of skin and flesh. Some mineral and oak barrel, too, along with gentle tartness. The palate has a big fruit presence, though there's no sweetness; it's dry, mildly tart and earthy. The plum skin and oak lend a moderate but pleasing tannic bite, which doesn't linger long into the finish. Mildly vinous, tart, jammy aftertaste. Nice stuff, not exactly world-class but very enjoyable.
