Wide open outdoor seating and serious buzz in the rock-n-roll atmosphere when you walk up. Industrial brick and steel beams in the open indoor floor plan with a band setting up above the bar upstairs. Macro euro lager in the bin outside wasn't a good first impression, but solid selection of craft brews on draft and 2 walls of refrigerated bottles behind the long sinuous bar inside. Range of clientele - mix of club types drinking Heineken and beer geeks drinking the good stuff out of some proper glassware. Just stayed for a pint each. Quick, friendly service and offered tastings of similar beers to Terrapin's Hop Karma Brown IPA and Hopsecutioner we ordered. Place reminded me of some of the louder, hipper beer bars in Brussels. Party, club atmosphere not my cup of tea but if you're looking to meet some friends out for a livelier evening and also have access to good beer then not a bad option.

Just take the drive to Laserwolf or go to Total Wine and save yourself the price gouge. You're not going to find the limited bottles here.

Best part of the place is the staff. They are all really good people, especially Fiorella, John, Chewy, Will, Aubrey, Jenn P., Rebecca, Ashley, and Lui.

I visited World of Beer on a Wednesday afternoon in late March. I walked in at 2:15, not realizing that they didn't open til 3pm. They were still gracious enough to serve me. The place isn't big. It has a nice bar with comfortable seating. The beer selection is pretty good considering what beers are available in Florida. I would've like to have seen more local beer on tap. They were about to have a German tap night and it appeared that they were already adding German brews to the taps. I also would have liked to see a few more Cigar City bottles in the cooler. Overall, though the selection was nice. I enjoyed the Bischoff Kristal Weizen. They served it with a lemon wedge. I would've rather they hadn't but it's no big deal. The prices must have come down. Earlier reviews said that it was extremely high, but I didn't see that. For example, the Bischoff was $5 for a large pour. Don't even know if they have food, but I didn't try it. This is a very nice location for a beer, granted it was in the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday.

With WoB being just a short five minute drive up the street from the house, I just had to try it. Took my old man and had a few beers. Bottle selection is amazing, menu is even broken down into categories listing style, origin, ABV, bottle size and price. Some of the bottles are outrageously priced though. Having been all over this great nation and having tried some of the best beers in the states, I was impressed with their on-tap selection as well. The only downsides to this place are the lack of seating, the lack of a truly knowledgable staff, and the fact that it's in Florida. With the Florida laws and whatnot, I perused the menu and could not find any of the top 25 BA top rated beers amongst the bottle selection at WoB. My other gripe is not so much with WoB, but with the state of FL. Being from Cleveland, OH originally, I have become a raving fan of the Great Lakes Brewery, and I have to have family bring me down cases of the beers I want from there as they come to visit. Overall, WoB is a good place to visit for an amateur beer lover with a large pocketbook, but for those of us who truly know and love great beer, don't bother, unless you want to leave broke!

World of Beer is an interesting bar to say the least. It's extremely loud and very uncomfortable, but the beer selection is AMAZING. They have a bunch of rotating taps and an extremely large bottle selection. They have a bunch of Cigar City brews which always makes me happy. They have a few flat screen TVs and a stage upstairs where bands play. Overall, great beer selection, but very noisy. I highly recommend sitting outside since the inside area is too chaotic. Recommended to those looking for good beer in a state where good beer is hard to fine.

From the novice to experienced beer drinker, you’ll find something to drink here. However, this place leans much more towards being a club and while I will give them credit for getting more people interested in craft beer, they have a tendency to have very little knowledge about their products. If you are with a group of friends, its a good place. At night and on the weekends, the music gets cranked up and bands are usually playing, which is also a problem because it is extremely loud in there (good luck trying to tell the bartender what beer you want). Be careful, when ordering bottles because some are highly over priced, especially the larger bottles. For a simplified description of this place, I would say, "if AB owned a craft beer bar, this is what they would come up with."

This is the kind of place that irks me, as a craft beer lover. Initially it seemed like a great idea - a big bar with a huge selection of craft beer for all the macro-drinking masses to try and hopefully bring over from the Dark Side. They've definitely mastered the marketing - social media, email, events, etc. They send out an email newsletter every week listing events, new bottle and draft releases, specials, etc. There's a pet-friendly night for people who want to bring their dogs and sit outside and enjoy a brew. World of Beer seems perfectly sincere in their intentions but it just seems like the execution is all wrong. Very few employees know the first thing about beer, the atmosphere is a bit louder, brighter and busier than allowed by my comfort level, and the last time I stopped in, both beers I ordered off the draft seemed to have been tainted by dirty tap lines. Maybe the kegs weren't stored properly. I honestly don't know, but there should be no excuse to serve spoiled beer. Both beers were standards that I always go to and have tried many times prior, so it was easy to notice the difference. I really like how WOB pushes great beer to the masses, but personally I'd rather spend my money at a place that isn't a chain and has a bit more of a relaxed atmosphere and knowledgeable staff.

This is a good place to hang out and have a good beer... if your filthy rich. $30 for a bottle of Zhukov more than a little pricey. I got two Breckenridge Vanilla Porters on tap for $20... enough said about price. It is however a great alternative for people who can appreciate good beer... unfortunately i saw too may people drinking Heineken and asking for pitchers of Bud Light (which luckily they don't serve!!). They don't serve food but they are located in a shopping center with lots of food places and have all their menus. They even place the orders for you for free, which is very cool i thought! Overall a good place to hang out i guess but they didn't have anything that i couldn't get at the local stores which is what i was hoping for... not to knock their selection cause it was over 500 bottles and 40 on tap. with free samples of taps.

What can i say about a world of beer that people haven't said before? This is the first one i went to in coconut creek. Its about 10 miles from my moms house, which dad and i were at on thanksgiving day for dinner. We wanted to grab some beers and watch the games somewhere and had heard of this place so went to try it. Beer heaven is what it was for pops and I. I couldn't believe the selection of beers they had, both domestic and especially import. Belgian, belgians, and more belgians seem to be the highlight of the world of beers i've been to, i'm up to 4 now. No food, but genius marketing ploy to have all the places around you have people come in and bring you your food from the surrounding restaurants, keeps everyone happy and for sure has brought some of the restaurants a bunch of extra business. Now my only gripe with world of beer is the amount they charge for some of the beers. I know business is about profit, but charging a 300%-400% markup from what i can get the beer at a total wine for can be a bit criminal at times. If it is something i can't get other than your place, i can see raising the price so high, but if i can drive 5 miles and buy the beer at a store, not soo much. For sure show up if you are in the neighborhood and bring your credit card!

I visited World of Beer (WoB) for the first time today. WoB, is officially my home away from home! The have an amazing selection of beers, both draft and bottles. Their staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Although they do not actually prepare food on their premises, you can order in from eight different restaurants. So if you want a burger (Mine was excellent) and your lady wants sushi (or vice-versa) you can do both!!! Prices were reasonable for both the food and beer. I was there from about 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. so I didn't get to see the late night crowd, the guys said it gets REALLY busy!!! Overall it was an excellent experience. Finally South Florida has a spot for beer aficionados. You know where to find me!

Cheers!

I just wanted to add that I edited my review today 12-29-2011:

For a couple of reasons, First I changed the atmosphere from 4.0 to 2.0 this is because while this is an awesome bar, if you go at the wrong time (ie Friday or Saturday night) the bar is filled with your typical ridiculous club types that belong downtown. Second, I also changed Service from 4.0 to 3.0 they have a high turn-over rate with employees, so as soon as you get to know one of your servers they are gone. I like going to a bar "where everybody knows your name", not where I am some faceless number. Finally, this place has the potential to be a premier beer spot here in South Florida. They just need to learn how to cater to their real demographic, craft beer drinkers!

I knew about the grand opening of World Of Beer Coconut Creek about 4 months ago and I've been drooling over the aspect of having over 500 different selections of beer to choose from and here was my experience at the grand opening.

1. It's a man cave : Flat screen tv's and beer paraphernalia adorn the walls, bar stools, an awesome selection of cold beer on tap and in bottles from all over the world.

2. Loyalty Club: Pay the 15 dollars and join the loyalty club. You earn 1 point per different beer and upon getting to certain levels of points you can earn things like tshirts, an engraved plaque posted up at the bar, and even an evening where your tab is paid for / an all expenses paid trip to the GABF. You can even track all the different beers that you've had. (The card works at every WOB location).

3. The beer selection : Rotating taps, and a bevy of bottles to choose from: American craft beers, belgians, imports, you name it, you can probably find it. While there aren't a whole lot of "beer geek" rare bottles, you can find something you'll definitely enjoy and leave happy.

Bad points: Lack of seating is an issue : A couple of benches and booths, and areas along the bar, and a patio section. I spent most of the night standing (kind of like a nightclub to include the loud music). Food - There is no food on premise, but you have the option of ordering in from the shops that are in the promenade plaza. It can also be difficult in ordering a beer on busy nights like friday / saturday due to people crowding the bar. I recommend going outside on the patio and giving your order to a server. It's usually quicker.

Overall: Great value on beer, amazing selection, decent service, with a few setbacks, but for a place that just opened a few hours ago, I was pretty impressed. A must visit place if you like beer :)
