Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a fine, one finger, off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is malty, caramel and bready malts, light stone fruit and a hint of hops. Flavor is dominated by pleasant bready and biscuit malt, citrus, and light to moderate grassy hops, finishing with light citrus hop bitterness that is more intense than I expected from the aroma or initial taste. Good medium body. A nice malty beer that I would have rated higher had it been presented as a amber ale. The hops lean towards an IPA, but the malt is more the star here. I liked it, but it is not a strong American IPA. Could be an older bottle; another brewery perhaps not getting the ratings it may deserve because there is no indication of date here.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.

Appearance: murky amber hue with a moderate effervescence and some floaties in the body. Head poured a finger of frothy light-tan foam which don't hold on very long. Not bad; not great.

Smell: very malty with a big caramel character right up front and not a lot in the way of hops. Hops are floral, if anything. Enticing in its own way, but not particularly appropriate for an American IPA.

Taste: caramel malt and some earthy, floral hop flavor. Bitterness is a bit low for the style, but appropriate enough. This is much more like a moderately hoppy red ale than an IPA; it's still a decent beer in general.

Mouthfeel: medium body with an OK carbonation and a little bit of creaminess. Nothing fancy to see here.

Overall: I find this to be a decent beer -- but be aware that it is not really as advertised. It doesn't really taste at all "dry hop'd with a mountain of hop flowers", but it does have a nice subtlety. Note -- it could be that this beer is past its freshness date, but without a date on the bottle it's impossible to tell. I also get my beer from a vendor who's quite conscious of IPA freshness, so I feel pretty confident this beer isn't terribly old.

On tap at the brew pub. It was not listed on the beer list, but the server mentioned Over The Hop because I was drinking the Rosie's IPA. This one is more in keeping with the American style IPA.

Appearance is a copper color with just a slight haze. The head was bubbly but not very resilient.

Smell is faint for an IPA, and rather nondescript.

Taste is a bitter grain flavor with very little citrus or pine notes.

Mouthfeel is thin and a little dry.

Drinkability is OK, but nowhere near as good as Rosie's.

Drank this at the Brewwery in Pullman.

Arrived at the table with a small sad looking foam head.

Smell was a yummy floral hoppyness.

Taste was also surprisingly good.

Mouthfeel was a little thin.

Overall a fine experience for the hop-head that I am. A good beer for those of us that enjoy the bitter hop bite mellowed by floral sweet hint at the finish.

A bottle left over after GABF judging and given to me as a reward for my volunteer efforts. Pours two fingers of light tan head over a cloudy orange copper liquid. Smells oranges, tropical fruit, butterscotch, pine, grapefruit pith, mint, menthol, and apricot esters.

Tastes wet with piercing clean hop bitter. Complex hop flavor with a bit of grassiness that dries the finish and aftertaste. Malt flavor is hidden beneath the hops. Hop flavor is potent pith, lemon, pine, and baby aspirin. Hop bitter almost has an acidic component that mixes with the piney hops flavor to make a pine-sol character. Medium body and decent drinkability.
