From visits over the summer. Was excited to have a brewpub on the south shore. BUT-They do not brew beer here. They get 4 lines of Seadog beers and put it on tap along with the regular BMC stuff. Most people I saw each time were drinking mixed drinks or cans of PBR or Gansett.
It is a nice location, nice views, nice deck etc, but that is about it.
The first time I went with my family, we got our seats and menus. On the Seadog menu it stated they had 8 seadog beers on tap. It also said, "ask your server about today's cask offering." So, I did. The waitres responded with a "what's that???"
I said "nevermind, then, I will have the IPA."
Me- "The IPA - right here on the menu???"
Waitress- "Ummmm, I think we only have blueberry, raspberry and the summer ale."
Quality training. No big deal, though. THe food was decent and it was a nice night.
Next time I went with just my wife. Not too bad, food was not too good, though, and they had the same 3 or 4 beers on tap. About a week later, my uncle and I went in. He had had a mediocre experience there when it first opened but wanted to try it again. It looked as if there were 2 or 3 people working and they were all under the age of 20. No service whatsoever. We tried to sit on the deck, but after waiting 15 minutes had to go to the bar for service. Would have asked to speak to a manager, but it did not look like there was one there.
Needless to say, have not been back since. Maybe they got some management in there to run it a bit better, but somehow I doubt it.
I also believe that they are not owned by seadog. I think the owners just pay to use the name. I know they get their kegs from a distributor just like any other bar. It certainly is not a "brewpub" as far as I can tell. It seems as if the owners are more interested in it being more of a summertime bar with waitresses in short shorts (no complaint here ;-))and serving mixed drinks on the patio.

Most visitors to Hull usually don't get past the Nantasket Beach area, but the Sea Dog Brew Pub which opened up earlier this summer is a good reason to drive up to the letter streets.
The biggest draw to this place is the view. Located on the western side of the penninsula town, day or night the pub has an amazing view of Hingham Bay and the skyline of Boston. The bar itself is located on the third floor of a marina building and has a number of deck tables and bar space when the weather is good.
While the menu doesn't have much more than typical pub fare plus some seafood options, in the several times I've visited the food has always been excellent. The service can be a little iffy but it has been getting progressively better since they first opened.
They have five Sea Dog brews on draft plus one unfortunate tap of Coors Light. For the summer they have featured their IPA, Summer, Blueberry, Hazelnet Porter, and Brown. Being the only brew pub in my hometown I just had to join their Mug Club.
While I've never counted Sea Dog among my favorite brews they do have a few I like (such as the porter) and the food an atmosphere make the visit enjoyable.

The new addition to the beer scene in the South Shore. Located adjacent to a marina off of A Street in Hull. The place is a bit off the beaten track, located on the third floor of a buliding and signage outside is a bit sparse. Inside decorum is a typical nautical type theme and open, yet cozy. The best selling point of this place is its location. It offers spectacular views of Boston Harbor and its islands, especially for those who elect to sit outside. Brews were fresh, but not earth-shattering representations of their styles. For a Friday afternoon before the weekend rush, they seemed to be out of almost half of their line-up (possibly only four available at that time). Food quality was surprising, and above avergage for a brewpub. Portions were large and all food was fresh and tasty. Although maybe not a desination for the uber beer geek, the Sea Dog is a good place to visit for some brews and food if you are in area.
