Great beer. Despite being fooled into thinking the dude from Social Distortion brewed this, it had great carbonation and a very citrus forward taste. Well worth checking out and sampling.

Can: Poured a bright yellow color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some good amount of lacing. Aroma of citrus notes with light bitter notes is pleasant enough. Taste is dominated by citrus hops notes with some bitter notes discernable with some light grainy notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed but doesn’t really stands out from the pack of IPA out there.

Canned 7/16/2015 (possibly batch 41? Hess web site may not be up to date). Cloudy orange, head is off white with some orange tint. Tropical and citrus in the nose. Taste is all late addition hops, leaning again towards tropical and citrus. Carbonation is low, as it seems the bitterness. Fairly easy to drink despite being 7.5%, I know this is all about the hops but I would have liked more malt character.

Pours from the can a cloudy gold with two fingers of white foam. The nose is floral, pine and some malt. The pine is more predominant in the taste than the floral notes, and there's a decent bit of bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium mouth. Nice little IPA.

Appearance: pours a golden yellow color. a two to three finger white head with pretty good retention and a streaky lacing left on the side. partly hazy but some clarity.

Smell: strong sweet malts come out first. hops come on fairly strong with citrus and some hop resin.

Taste: opens up with crystal malt sweetness. hops come through with citrus and earthy tones. somewhat grassiness to it. ends with more sweetness with notes of lemon bread and some grains.

Mouthfeel: sticky and somewhat grassy. some sweetness to and a lingering grasst sweetness.

Overall: not sure the ages on this one but it doesn't say so I'll post anyways. way to much malt presence and sweetness, and a strange hop taste. too much grassiness comes through.
