Very good. Nice hoppy taste but not floral.

Poured can into Lost Abbey Teku

A-Pours crystal clear orange with a three finger off-white head that is creamy and dissipates with nice lacing.

S-Aroma is light grass, citrus, and passion fruit. Very nice.

T-Flavor is full and firm with unwavering hoppy goodness. I get sweet juicy passion fruit and orange wedges that are surrounded by resiny pine and bitter grapefruit hops.

M-Medium body, creamy front and grainy at the end. Very nice carbonation.

O-My first time having Hess, reminds me of OTWOA! If this is a example of their work, I will buy more.

Pint can batch 27 poured to pint tumbler

Appearance is crystal clear golden, 1 finger of light tan head that lays down to a film, Some small amount of lacing.

Aroma is orange and orange blossom with some sweet malt nose.

Flavor is hop forward, bitter. Orange peel, grapefruit, pine, caramel. Hibiscus-like floral note as it warms. Good stuff!

Mouthfeel is medium thick on body, not a lot of snap from the carbonation

Overall: damn decent hop bomb, rotating recipe IPA's always interest me, and Solis is no exception. Although I'm probably a little more intrigued by hopping in some of the past batches.. Be nice if they had something other that a QR code to identify the batch... some of us Luddites aren't packing around mini-computers

A - golden with some lacing in the glass
S - smells bold and hoppy
T - sharp with more hop hit on the backside without being all hop
M - great lingering hoppy taste and not to heavy on the tongue
O - Love the can and the unique label, its a beer worth locating

Poured from the new Mike Hess tall boy cans, this one with gray trim and the Hess crest flanked by two grizzly bears. Quite bad ass. Batch 27 with Cascade and Centennial hops. A slightly hazy gold body with a two finger high white head. Average retention, maybe a tick below with thin discorded lacing all over the glass.

Not exactly stock west coast style but close. Bready malt is very bright and airy, sweetness is from honey somewhat raw and doughy. Citrus and pine with a backing of floral herbs and wood. Alcohol rises along with the hop aromas, packs a punch.

Bready malt with some honey biscuit sweetness. Loud orange citrus with a light pine that lingers through a clean finish and medium-high bitterness. Quite simple (likely since it's the first batch to be distributed) yet well crafted.

Hess beers tend to have a smoother carbonation profile and a medium body that makes them feel somewhat hefty. This one bucks the trend a bit with moderate carbonation and is easy to put down and have room for more. Decent drying with just a bit of honey malt residue.

A satisfying quaff, a bit too safe if you've been around the IPA block a few times but it makes me excited to know that this beer is ever evolving as a fun and innovative project. Solid IPA, satisfying the hop craving for tonight.
