Clear light amber with a decent head. Quite spritzy on the tongue. "Funky" is the word for this stuff. It's kind of shocking after drinking anything else. A little fruity weirdness in the nose.
Sweet and tangy with a barnyard hint. Not so much yeasty as woody and musty. Long and intense descent into the Belgian taste. Sharply fruity with something like tangerines, only with a whiff of fermentation going on.
Rather bitter at the finish as it dries out totally. The whole thing seems a little extreme and misses that creamy sudsniness that adds to much to Belgian styles. Interesting to try, though, if you like to taste what diferent brewers are doing with Belgian yeast. I totally forgot it was supposed to be the IPA style, so I can't rate it too high for the non-hoppiness. On tap at Fifty Seven Degrees.
