On tap at Toronados
A: Pours black in color with a soapy light brown head. Leaves some nice lace down the glass.
S: Belgian yeast with a sweet and smoky, almost meaty presence in the background. Faint smoky fig aroma in the back.
T: A pretty mild flavor throughout with some Belgian yeast, mild roasted malt and light dark fruit. On the finish, you get a touch of fig skin. Not much here, though. A little disappointing.

Brewer calls this a "dark fig Saison." Handsome dark mahogany color with a modest foam. Not much aroma. Quite dry. Not much Belgian flavor but the yeasty dry character is quite aggressive. Some pleasant spritziness on the tongue.
I can't taste any actual figs, but there is a slight raisiny taste. A little bit of funk. Pleasant bitter aftertaste. Each sip starts with the burnt raisin toast flavor and hint of sweetness before it turns to ashes.
An interesting Saison-inspired brew. Good balance of dark scorched malt with the tart and tangy sensation. On tap at the brewery in North Park.
