Lots of good beers here. No prices listed, lots of good liquor too. Open late, great stop on way home from work. Lots of cold beer too.

Not a big fan of the constant hyping on Facebook and instagram and twitter, especially when your bottle limit is 1.
Why aren't prices listed on the bottle? The guy at the register didn't want to do a price check, he just told me it was a really good deal-Not

Finally made it to this off the beaten track spot in Long Beach. Decent place that basically looks like your run of the mill liquor store. It seems to have a decent stock but one can easily be fooled in that what appears to be large stock is really multiple rows and/or displays of the same bottle, be it beer or spirits. Still, decent stock.
This is likely a wonderful local shop for Long Beach but has certainly not kept up with the variety selection of the major shops of Southern California such that I suspect most of the very high ratings would be lower in today's world where several stores in Southern California far exceed selection.
Nice staff and worth a trip if in the area. I saw nothing that could not be obtained in dozens of other places around the general Southern California/Los Angeles area. By today's standards with the growing beer craze, this store is very good, at best, it is not world class. Conclusion: not worth a long drive or going out of your way.

Danny is phenomenal. Very helpful, knowledgable about beer. Solid beers at all times in this spot.

Always a good selection of high end beers here. Plus, I found a bottle of Elijah Crag 21yr on their shelf!

Stearns is my go to spot. I've been frequenting it for around 5 years now and have gotten to know the owner (Danny) and the rest of the employees fairly well. Someone is usually calling out my name and pointing out something special as I walk in the door. the place is well stocked, laid out nicely and has a great vibe. All the hoppy beers are in the coolers like others have stated. Stouts and the like on the shelves right near a small glassware section that is always worth a look. The prices are very competitive and if you can manage to slow Danny down for a few minutes he's always good for geeking out on some beer talk. Also as others have stated they post most special arrivals on social media so follow them if you want to land those Whalez!

Great place, friendly service and a gem of a store. The person working this past Saturday when I visited was very attentive and helpful. The store had a great selection of crafts and I found numerous beers that I had been looking for in other stores in L.A. but could not find.. The better part of their beer selection is kept in their cooler, which is something I appreciate. Prices are in line with other stores in the Los Angeles area.
The store is somewhat off the beaten path but not hard to find. I had always heard good things about Stearn's but somehow never made over there. Even though this store is a bit out of the way for me I will find a way to visit there regularly. I don't mind going out of my way for good selection, friendly service and cold beers.
